Haha thats so weird I did the same thing, the only problem with Twilight Princess is that after you beat it, there isn't much to do. Wind Waker had so many quests and it added so much play time, but Twilight you beat and are just done.

Majora's Mask is da best.
Windwaker is one of my favorite's if only because I think mentioning Ocarina of time is unfair.

I started the first DS game the other night but sadly didn't get far in it so going to put some more time into it tonight.

From what I remember the first game was pretty fun. Chris says Spirit Tracks is really great but I haven't picked it up yet due to not having money and not beating the first DS game.

I'm that one fan that thinks Twilight Princess is the best of the series. I dont know why, but I find the gameplay and story more interesting in that entry.

Storytelling is one of those things that is difficult to guage a whole series by, since games on the NES obviously were not as good as telling them than games on later systems. Storytelling is something that games get better and better at as time goes on. I think the major aspect that OoT is praised for is for solidifying 3D gaming in a previously 2D world. TP certainly tells its story better, and has a more complicated one, but that's more a sign of the times than anything else.

While the gameplay is basically the same as OoT, I will say I do enjoy the Wii's control scheme much much more than the controller based scheme for OoT. But again, that's just a difference in the platform, and not really in the core game.

Not that I hate TP. It's still an excellent game. Right behind OoT. Though, some aspects were better. Yes, I'm talking about you, Navi.

Going to be beating the Phantom Hourglass in a little bit after my battery for the DS charges at the very last boss, the last battle and my battery got super low.

The game is a blast to play I forgot how fun it was and I don't remember why I stopped playing it in the first place.

The animated show was epic... Even if it was so bad it's good. Ganon was my favorite character of that show, and his voice was epic but not as Epic as CD-I Ganon. I demand to know who did CD-I Ganon's voice!!!

The only real Zelda game I've played a lot is a link to the past for the GBA, and what I find odd is that the graphics color wise seem worse then the SNES version. But if it weren't for scribblenauts, I would be playing it right now as it's alot of fun.

I wish the next Zelda game would be more open-world. Vast wilderness to explore with secrets under trees and rocks (whatever happened to "It's a secret to everyone?" Who says all the moblins and lizalfos have to be bad guys?) More mystery, less hand-holding. Less railroading. If I want to explore the second dungeon before I find the first, I should be able to.

I fear today's demand for scripted encounters and cut scenes makes this type of Zelda game impossible, but still, I would be more than happy with a cinematic showing us Ganon brooding in Death Mountain, telling us to go find 8 pieces of the broken Triforce and then defeat him. After that, it's our game.

Everytime I start a new game of Elder Scrolls Oblivion, I get out into the wilderness and think, if this game was Zelda, it would be my favorite game in the world. (Then, with a sigh, I slog out into a beautiful landscape marred by terrible combat mechanics and repetitive dungeon crawling.)

...But that's not what Zelda is. It has never been like that. Such openness would also mean you'd have to make every single dungeon about the same skill level. You wouldn't be able to put tough enemies in them, because you'd be able to visit any of them. And, for the sake of argument, you say "well they can put stronger enemies in the harder ones, just give you access to them right away." That still reinforces more linear gameplay, since you would be unable to complete the harder dungeons without first completing the easier dungeons. Also keep in mind that the progression of Zelda games is largely plot based. In OoT, you can't get to the Lakebed Temple without the Zora armor, which you need to get from King Zora, which you need to complete the ice cave for, etc etc. Making an open Zelda game like Oblivion makes it no longer Zelda. It makes it, well, Oblivion. Which Zelda is not.

In the first Zelda you could get to any dungeon from the start I believe

Well I take it you liked Majora's mask a lot.
In Ocarina you can Complete Shadow temple before or after Spirit Temple.
