I never really played ACAH. That dogfight cam just isn't for me, but a paint option would be awesome!
Plus, I didn't even notice the lack of replay.
I could just spend hours on the replays on games like this and Birds of Steel.

Ugh! I love the AC franchise and it pains to think that this game just feels like a cheap cash grab.
Why you do this Namco!

*sigh As you said MC, atleast we'll always have the classics.

*EDIT
Sorry guys, I really don't mean to skreeonk so much about everything. It just really bugs me to watch so many of my favorite franchises disappearing. I just feel that we're losing creativity in the world of gaming.

part of the reason i've been returning to nintendo.

This game is barely F2P as it is. Take for example, the supplied fuel.

You get 3 fuels.
Each one recharges at 3 hours.
3X3=9
9 hours to play a set of games if you can't/don't want to pay.

Is it really to free to play? I don't think so. They really have to change the supplied fuel, either in amount or recharge time.

^^^ And the online matches only last 5 mins!!! That's only 45 mins of gameplay every 9 hours.

I would have been happy to drop $60 buck for a complete game.

I can't help but wonder if it was everyone insistence on buying used games that brought this upon us.

I'd be fine with a subscription method at this point. 30 bucks for unlimited play, but keep fuel around for the forced sorties. People can get a default number of fuels with the subscription every month, but can still buy more, to increase rewards. Or something, but it HAS to change, somehow.

Well, Assault Horizon was ridiculously overbudgeted and didn't earn as much money as projected, so Namco Bandai didn't have much confidence in investing in another fully-fledged Ace Combat title.

Combine that with the fact that NB's previous free-to-play projects, namely Tekken: Revolution, were relatively successful, and...well...here we are.

Yeah, but AC:AH was a dud because no one wanted the scripted, bland, modern military crap we were given. Yeah, the soundtrack is awesome, and some of the levels are fun to play, but it wasn't what we were hoping for. If AC:I had been what we were given instead (but as a full fledged title), then I imagine it would have gotten it's budget back and then some easily.

I don't mind the F2P stuff, I do just wish that we had more fuel in storage, or a faster recharge rate.

Ok so I just notice that after you wait 4 hours for fuel, it only refills one slot. ONE slot!
skreeonk it. If they change that fuel thing I might return to play this. But till then i'm done.

Really wish they took the WoTs route with this game.
You can play as much as you want, but it just takes longer to upgrade. I would have been fine with that.
Just get rid of the fuel crap.

Finally got my match rate back above 1900.

And with the update on the way, I'm looking forward to the new co-op stage and the return to Avalon.

I'm none to interested about my rank. It's all about credits now. Someone did the math, and you need 28 million go to upgrade SP weapons alone.

28...million...

I'm just barely at 1550. Maybe my rate would go higher if I didn't keep somehow getting matched up against twats who were spooning PAKmans and F-35'S in every bloody match.

Ye gods man. I've been hovering around 1600 for several days now, give or take 10 points depending on winning/losing streaks. I don't think I want to go any higher than that, honestly, since it seems like that's getting into the tryhard territory where everyone is using F-22s and JSFs. I love my A-10 too much, and even at level 6 it can't compete with those things.

You'd think so, but I got this rating using a lvl 7 F/A-18E with lvl 2 LASMs, and I can regularly compete with folks using F-22s/F-35s. I don't always win MVP, but it's usually enough to get my team on top.

As far as ratings go though, it does make it a little harder to enjoy the game though, when you keep getting kicked out of rooms because your rating is too high. And yeah, credits are really the more important thing. I just unlocked the option to research the F-22 and the Su-34. I still haven't gotten to the T-50 yet. I'm less than seriously contemplating buying some research contracts, but I'd really rather not.

Once I get my F-18 to lvl 4 I'll retire my mirage as my primary. But development of my F-18 is slower than molasses moving at 1 foot per 50 years.
