Dante in the new game has a different face then he did in the past few game, and I don't like the music played in the trailer as well. What happen to the metal, and hard rock music that was in the past four games?

It's too early for me to be sure of anything, but so far, I'm liking how this looks. The previous DMC games were very good, but they started slipping into cliche. Dante himself was starting to lose my interest, he really didn't have much going for him in the last few games. He started being less bad-ass and more of a show off really. Some criticisms of DMC4 said that the the formula for the DMC games was starting to get old. So... yeah, I think a reboot is a good idea. I'm actually liking this new Dante, his personality and design really come through. I actually like the fact that he's a more savage and enraged character, he seems more motivated and determined than his prior incarnation. Not to mention, I like the fact that he's much more lean and skinny than the former Dante, somehow makes his display of strength seem more impressive, that and he's not so idealized, and again it's something new. This revamp of Dante just comes off as being more fresh. The old Dante was.... well.... getting old.... (no pun intended)

You know what? It's rapidly growing on me. And besides, we haven't seen actual gameplay yet so it is still way to early to make half-a'd remarks.

And when this comes out, I'll end up getting it. Why? Well when you have Sonic '06 given to you as a gift, you really need every chance of redemption you can get, because you can't get rid of gifts without coming off as an ungrateful a-hole.

Maybe we will see some gameplay footage soon then I might change my mind. Right now, I really don't like how this game looks so far.

Is it mainly just Dante's redesign you don't like?

I don't like the western look it so far. The logo for the game has that Hip Hop look to it, and the music used in the trailer is pretty crappy. I was hoping that DMC5 will return to dark, gritty, and gothic style that Devil May Cry 1 & 3 had, and take place after Devil May Cry 2 or 4 left off.

....American Hip-Hop? I quite honestly don't know where your getting that from. The logo? Maybe, I just thought it was trying to go for that blood or inky-look. But a lot of titles do that lately, that doesn't make it exclusively hip-hop.
Dante, and for that matter and the music itself, seem to be going for a European Punk-Rock feel. In fact its quite obvious. If you look at this Dante's coat, the left sleeve, you'll the Great Britain flag is patched on (around when he says "My name is Dante"). The haircut and everything about this seem to support that notion. I don't know where people are getting American. Or Emo... Or Hipster....

I'm not trying to call crap on your opinion or anything, but I've notice that a lot complaints about this new Dante seem somewhat unjustified or just plain biased. If you don't have initial good feelings, that's fine, but give it a chance. It's only the first trailer after all.

Heavenly Sword was not good.

New Dante looks like shit.

No reason to reboot, other than to make it more "Western"

skreeonk off Capcom.

My lord, you are picky.

I think it's refreshing to see them do something different with a franchise that has become so formulaic in terms of gameplay IMO.

Yes, thank you. I too actually commend Capcom for taking a chance and experimenting with this franchise.

Besides, doesn't anyone remember that the creator of DMC Hideki Kamiya no longer works for Capcom? He's with Platinum games now. Best Capcom not go ahead and use his creation without his guidance. I'd think fans would actually be glad they're rebooting the series in respect for Kamiya.

Is it normal that I was able to get a PC copy of DMC4 for $6?
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

So I guess the DMC fanbase refers to this Dante as Dino (Dante in name only). Which honestly irks me, it just makes the fanbase come across as being waaaaay too conservative, PMSing crybabies. It's not as if Ninja Theory is doing with Dante what Tristar did with Godzilla. The character has main standards he needs to meet 1)needs to be a cool and stylish combatant with an inhuman prowess 2)is able to use a variety of weapons in an effective and stylish manner 3)wears a red coat of some sort. This Dante has these characteristics, so as far as I'm concerned this representation isn't unfaithful to the character.

Ya new Dante actually looks cooler to me, I think it's the darker hair, but I think he looks like a cool dude. Certainly looks pretty badass when he's in action. I never really liked old Dante that much anyways.

I like the new Dante, but I'm a sucker for white hair, exactly the way how Classic Dante sports it, so it's obvious who I prefer.
