I won't lie, I heard about this game through a youtube video discussing what some rich obsessive kangaroo did to some other people.
Odd.

Shame nothing came of it, there were some cool ideas like a haunted mansion sprouting arms and a face cause the ghouls & ghosts got tired of been usurp by kaiju as the thing to be feared and were gonna fight them on their terms.

what went wrong?
I'm genuinely curious as to what caused this thing to fail so miserably

I believe there was a tragic event involve Simon`s family. Which makes sense as why something would cease production.gottatalktothefake wrote:what went wrong?

There`s some other things that happened that turned it into sour grapes.

Can't really be bothered to type out everything that happened right now (There's a lot) but basically: Simon Strange. This whole ship was ran very incompetently, and after so many setbacks and delays, the environment artist died which threw off Simon's development schedule (I also believe he ran out of money?) and he put the game on ice indefinitely. While the man's death is tragic, effectively using it as a get out of jail free card to never deliver on what you promised people has never sat right with me. I'm surprised the backers never made a big stink about this, but then again he's tried to keep this as quiet as possible with killing the forums and never announcing the state of the game in an update email or on the Kickstarter page.gottatalktothefake wrote:what went wrong?

Yeah, the other thing is that they were quick to start focusing less on the game, and more of things like the fan made Kaiju and the card game.Smuggers wrote:Can't really be bothered to type out everything that happened right now (There's a lot) but basically: Simon Strange. Hey, the game taught me the valuable lesson to never take online schemes like kickstarters and patreons seriously again. Counts for something.

A guy who randomly stumbled upon this place one day, invested much too much time into it, and now appears to be stuck here for all eternity..and strangely enough, i do not regret it!

So are people out there money for this project now? Guess Lamango's ti-raid was simply premature.
