RE5 sucked. It was more like RE4 2.0. The story sucked, the splitscreen was horrendous, there was no element of "horror," Sheva sucks, and it was too flippin' easy.

Gimmie back my RE2 and 3.

Did guys know that RE main influence was "Sweet Home", a game based on a movie that was produced by Itami Productions and distributed by Toho.

Sweet Home was a direct inspiration, but so was Alone in the Dark.

Man Alone in The Dark fall hard. That new game was a chance to bring back a classic franchise but they ended up dropping the ball. Damn shame, the game could have jump start the Alone in the Dark franchise and be the start of a series of fun games. The soundtrack was good but the games execution sucked.

Alone in the Dark has not been good in the past 10+ years, the game might have sold poorly due to the movie ruining the series rep. Its a shame too since the original AITD was a good game.

Not to turn this into an Alone in the Dark discussion, but the newest entry was too ambitious; it was pretty, and I'm sure the story would've been fairly interesting had I played beyond the underground carport in the first burning building, but the control scheme was entirely too much for me. I also tested the Wii version, which was unplayable. I'm sure the PS2 version was just as bad. I'm all for another Alone in the Dark, but, like with RE, it needs to return to its roots.

The very first one was BRILLIANT. After that, they got less scary.

If RE6 is a total reboot then I hope they return back to the setting from the first game. I still would like to see a sequel to RE5 though, and maybe Wesker is still alive.

My only problem with that would be that we just had a fantastic remake of this game not even eight years ago, and just two years ago a refined version of that game was reissued on the Wii. And just three years ago the majority of the game was remade yet again through Umbrella Chronicles.

How about something original for a change?

How about Capcom LEAVES Resident Evil alone. It's been skreeonk with enough.

I would prefer a totally new survival horror game.

^ That's what I was getting at when I implied I only consider the first game cannon.

If they want the RE feel, they could always try to revive Sweet Home. I would also accept a new Clock Tower game. I'm not sure if Capcom can sell a completely new idea, though. The market's pretty saturated with survival horror as it is.

I just find it amazing that they haven't opted for a full on remake of RE2 after all these years, even as just pure fan service. I love that game so much, they'd get my money easily with a simple release like that. After RE 5 and all these mediocre rail gun shooters, I'm kind of worried about the future series at this point. They might as well play it safe and have an HD remake of one of their most beloved titles. Why not, right?

I dunno, I'd like to see some progression. I'm tired of the oxymoron of "A TOWN called Raccoon CITY"

HOW IS A TOWN A CITY!?!?

Looks like the next RE game will be back in Racoon city. I'm really hype up for now, I can't wait for some info at E3.

Well it's not one of those crappy Wii spin off games. It's a full HD RE game in a RE2-3 setting this time.

How many characters can you cram into a three day period?

Just ask the folks at Capcom.
