I just bought Gold edition. What do you suggest I start first the mansion DLC or the main game?
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

I really like the Las Plagas myself, but I do miss zombies also. I really don't see why they can't have 'em both.

That would be pretty cool, like a mix of the new style and Outbreak.

RE5 was great. If this does end up being a reboot, I won't continue the series I have never had the advantage of playing throughout its run. [RE5 was my first Resident Evil game.]

And it's also the worst, it's good alright, but RE4 beats it easily, the other games go without saying.

And is this going to be a new trend with video games? First Superman and Spider-man got their reboots, but now this reboot fiasco is now hitting video games! D:

First DMC, then Castlevania(?), and now RE!? What's next Mario and Zelda get a boot?

Techincally every Zelda game is a reboot very rarely do you get sequels. Zelda is sort of like the Millenium G flicks.

As for RE6 I personally want it to get back to it's roots and from what I've read (see Bret's post) it's just going to start a new storyline in the series. I wouldn't expect it till 2012 at the earlist probably won't see it till well after 2013.

I hope it is a continuation with the Plagas and not a reboot, that would make me kinda mad, I want the story to continue!

EDIT: The topics were merged

I couldn't agree more. Biohazard 4>Biohazard 5. Not to say 5 wasn't a quality game, just something about it just seemed...underwhelming. I also didn't like that the "horror" aspect was kind of pushed aside for a more "action" orientated game. Bio 4 has the perfect blend of the the two. 5 did not. It's also shorter and was kind of a cake walk..

It's also slower paced, when you get attacked in RE4, it's brutal and you can't blink or once you open your eyes your head will be missing, in RE5 You see everything from a mile away.

The only time something got truely hectic for me was when I first encountered those Chief Manjini and wasn't expecting them too be so tough also the Chainsaw guys gave me hell. Especially in Chapter 3 was it? People said the Reapers were scarier, i disagree. I took them down all fairly easily with the first shotgun you get. I wish they would of brought back more traditional RE monsters like tyrants and that instead of just the lickers.

I really enjoyed RE5 but between playing through it with Chris and my other friend Brian I got REALLY burnt out on the game.

The RE 3DS game looks fantastic can't wait to pick that up.

So RE4 is one of the best games in the franchise. But did you know that originally RE4 was to have a supernatural element? Possessed dolls and ghosts with hooks. I find it interesting that Capcom actually thought about going this route. Don't get me wrong, RE4 is fun as it is but it would have been interesting to see how they would managed to switch the focus and concentrate on making things like ghosts work in a franchise that has always been creatures made by science.

Here's a video of some game play for this early concept before being scrapped for the RE4 we got today.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWpEE_5p ... re=related

You'll even notice some elements like the attacking suits of armor were used in the game we got. This concept was so different from other Resident Evil games that it's amazing Capcom thought RE when they came up with this concept. Really it's a cool concept just not for RE. I would love to see them make an entirely new game franchise out of this.

HOOK MAN!!!!! I guess he was supposed to be similar to Nemesis because he would show up often.

The first Devil May Cry game was plan to be RE4 at one point when RE4 was plan back in 2000 for the Gamecube, and PS2. The story had Dante is a new member of The Umbrella Corporation and is send to Europe to fight a group of monsters that where created by a new virus.

Yes it looked cool, it's from those times after DMC became DMC, since it was a new RE before becoming its own series.

EDIT:

Haha! Hellspawn pretty much said the same as I only more in depht.

I remember reading that somewhere. Hopefully Capcom will do the same thing as they did with Devil May Cry and make a new game series with this.

Yeah I'm wondering too, I think an RE/DMC crossover would be terrible

Both DMC and RE are totaly different series, a crossover would not fit. If you want to see DMC vs RE then go pick up MVC3 when it comes out in two months from now.

I remember reading that somewhere.

I remember seeing conpect for Dante as well, he look pretty much the same but in a police outfit. The original idea for RE4 was scrap because Mikami feel like the Dante character would be better off in a different game, and Sugimura change the whole conpect into something else which why we got Devil May Cry instend of RE4 back in 2001.

What?

Where are you guys getting this crossover idea from?

I was just saying it would be cool if they took this concept and make a new game franchise jut like how they took another idea that was going to be RE and instead made Devil May Cry.

I'd much rather have them:

*Go back to RE's roots.
*Make another Dino Crisis.
*After the new DMC, go back to White Haired Sexy Dante.
