It's awesome, If you're the kind of person who likes to unlock everything in a game, it's got a lot to offer.

Is that the rail shooter for the Wii? I've wanted to get my hands on that for a while.

Yes, There's also the New Darkside Chronicles which I haven't gotten the chance to play yet but I guess it's good too.

While RE2 is technically (in all respects) the better game, the original is and will always be my favorite; it's the perfect b-movie experience. 3 and Code Veronica are fine. Survivor is unplayable. Haven't played Survivor 2. Survivor 4 is average. Remake is nice, if unnecessary, and Zero introduces needless plot elements that obviously weren't there to begin with and ultimately complicate the overall narrative about as much as 4 and 5 do. Both Outbreaks lack a solid single-player experience. Some would call 4 innovative, but I call it uninspired and, save for some characters, the game really has no business being an RE sequel proper, and 5 is pretty ridiculous. Man, the continuity in this franchise is a mess.

I've liked every game in the series. RE2 is the best. RE4 is overrated and RE5 is too. But, both games are kind of fun so I still enjoy playing them even if they aren't Resident Evil games.

I've been playing RE4 a lot recently, it's always going to be my favorite in the series.

Resident Evil 6

Postby Monster Master » Sat Oct 09, 2010 9:32 pm

Since its pretty much official that the game will be made, who here is looking forward to? I've actually just begun playing RE5 and it's a total blast. I love how the Las Plagas are becoming a staple, but I actually do miss the whole undead stuff. Kinda' hoping RE6 will have a sort of fusion between the Las Plagas & T-Virus...

Undead Las Plagas... could be nightmarish to fight.

RE6 I think is confirmed to be a reboot of the series. There making it like the old ones. I heard they were even going out of their way to have the door loading sequences from the earlier games.
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

If it's a reboot, WHY THE HELL WOULD IT BE CALLED 6!?

And is this going to be a new trend with video games? First Superman and Spider-man got their reboots, but now this reboot fiasco is now hitting video games! D:

First DMC, then Castlevania(?), and now RE!? What's next Mario and Zelda get a boot?

I think it would be nice to have a blend of both styles, have it keep the gameplay that RE4 made famous but make it creepier like the first games and not as actiony as RE5, don't get me wrong, I RE5 is fun, but it's lacking on several things I liked more about the first games, I want Zombies back and I want more claustrophobic experiences, more thrills and more mansion like places.

Well if 6 isnt a reboot heres whats going to happen:

Wesker is born again due to some bullshit that has a piece of his body from the volcano regrow and reforming itself to Wesker's Human form. Meanwhile Steroid injected Chris and skin tight jeans Jill run around killing non zombie zombie monsters, Leon pops up and all like Yo Chris and then Chris will be like yo back. Barry comes back for like 10 mins and gets shot in the head by Wesker who at the time looks like Chris due to his new shape shifting powers, Chris gets locked up by [insert random ass police here] so its up to Leon and Jill to free Chris and found out whats going on.

10 bosses and no story later the two find out that Wesker is alive and is now like "I have more powers and shit", they all fight leaving Jill and Leon near death. Chris punches down a wall knowing that walls arent as hard as boulders and confronts Wesker, Wesker is all like "CHHHRRRIIISSSS!" and then Chris shoots Wesker with an RPG. Leon jumps out a window with a random underaged blonde hair girl and Chris has a Jill Sandwhich for a job well done.
And yes im a huge RE fan :/

Link? I hate when they reboot stuff if the last game was good and made a lot of money. I'm gussing they want to reboot since all of the RE fans where crying that RE5 sucked when the game itself is great critcly speaking . Don't reboot something if its not broken, I can say the same for the new DMC game as well.

Here's where I read it:

http://kotaku.com/5159088/resident-evil ... t-with-re6

With less than a month to go before Resident Evil 5 hits, 1Up is digging into the game to unearth a lot of new information including an interesting interview with the game's producer.

If this short intro to the week-long package can be believed, it sounds like Jun Takeuchi has finally come to the same realization that a lot of gamers have, it's time for the basic framework and mechanics of Resident Evil to get an overhaul.

In what is destined to be the first genuinely epic game of 2009, Resident Evil 5 is practically guaranteed to be the last of its kind, with the game's producer, Jun Takeuchi, assuring us that a reboot is in order for the inevitable Resident Evil 6. That's not to suggest that there's anything wrong with the evil at hand. Quite the opposite; it's awesome fun, and we've beaten the game from beginning to end, and have a week's worth of detailed, insider info for you to enjoy.

While the new footage, preview and "secrets" all sound interesting, what I'm waiting for is the full Takeuchi interview set to hit the site on Wednesday.

Come on Takeuchi, no more zombie pinata.

This was back before RE5 was released. This was said on Feb. 23. 2009

It's not broken but it's not as good as it once was.

It would make little sense to have another mansion ridden by zombies or something like that so a Reboot would be a Nice idea including the new plagas and stuff.

I wouldn't mind seeing a major league Plagas outbreak in an American city. So far, having gone through RE4 and currently 5 (I just killed the big ass thing on the ship), it seems as if that's where it could be going. I really like the Las Plagas myself, but I do miss zombies also. I really don't see why they can't have 'em both.

I just bought Gold edition. What do you suggest I start first the mansion DLC or the main game?

That would be pretty cool, like a mix of the new style and Outbreak.

RE5 was great. If this does end up being a reboot, I won't continue the series I have never had the advantage of playing throughout its run. [RE5 was my first Resident Evil game.]

And it's also the worst, it's good alright, but RE4 beats it easily, the other games go without saying.

Techincally every Zelda game is a reboot very rarely do you get sequels. Zelda is sort of like the Millenium G flicks.

As for RE6 I personally want it to get back to it's roots and from what I've read (see Bret's post) it's just going to start a new storyline in the series. I wouldn't expect it till 2012 at the earlist probably won't see it till well after 2013.
