I don't hate this show because it mocks religion(I'm an atheist myself). I hate it because it is horribly unfunny.

I agree with this.

I don't care what Family Guy talks about. They could talk about slavery, abortion, nano-tech enhancements, whatever. It doesn't matter to me. What matters is if the way that they go about showing said topic is funny or not. And ever since the end of Season 3, it has almost never been funny. Most of the time, it's just disturbing, awkward, gross, or just plain unfunny.

It's not that the show is controversial in what it talks about. It's that the show does a terrible job at being funny.

I agree. I found the first 3 seasons to be funny. Everything after has been awful. Must be different writers or something.

My guess is that those same writers developed massive egos during their off time, where they thought every little thing that came out of their mouths was comedic genius, when that was never the case.

If there are still people out there that like "Family Guy", then good for you. And I mean that. You're certainly not wrong to like the show, nor does it make you any worse than a person who doesn't like "Family Guy" (or better for that matter). I may disagree with someone on why "Family Guy" is good or funny, but I don't look down on any one who does disagree with me.

It's all about respect.

While I personally think that "Family Guy" shouldn't have come back after the end of season three, that doesn't mean I think those who disagree with me are in the wrong.

Probably? There's no doubt about it. "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" has amazing writing. Some of the best writing I've ever seen for an animated show. ...In case you missed it, I've admitted that I love MLP: FiM. Great show.

Family Guy, on the other hand, has such terrible writing. Almost all of the problems I have with the show can be blamed on the insultingly bad writing.

Anyway, we're kinda off-topic. Not sure why we started talking about MLP in the Family Guy thread.

While the better of two is in the eye of the beholder, it's agravating when so many fans insist on adding weight to their beloved MLP. It's perfectly acceptable to like a series about ponies beaming rainbows from their asses, but please people, stop trying to sell it as something cerebral that's worthy of scholarship.

Yeah, Family Guy seems to have pretty pointless filler in most episodes. I don't understand how someone just doing the exact same thing over and over again is funny. It's just stupid and pointless.

Usually if it's a topic of a movie or show I don't like, I don't post in it.

Anyways, I like the show but I usually wait until for the DVD's for new episodes because of uncensored jokes and topics, which is a pain considering how Fox releases the show on DVD. For the most part I watch it on TBS or synd. if it's a episode I really like or there's nothing on. I really like the Brian and Stewie centered episodes myself.

My feelings on Family Guy:

Family Guy is like a train wreck, y'know the one where its kinda hard to sit through at times but you have to look at it because like all train wrecks, its appealing in a sick, demented, cruel kinda way. At times when it wants to be, Family Guy can be a midly fun show but at its worst, it gets too racist at times and mocks everything & everyone

I know the show gets a lot of hate, but I find it hilarious. Beats out South Park, American Dad, and Futurama by a long shot.
