I find it hilarious this movie basically just spawned outta the blue and it already has a director and writer and yet it took Godzilla quite awhile to get either.

Has nothing to do with that, but with this they have freedom to do what they wish an it's probably going to be low-budget (compared to blockbusters). With Godzilla you have 50+ years of history you have to respect, a strong critical fan-base, while having to get Toho's and Legendary's approval it's just very difficult to find people who are willing to work on the project with such restraints.

In the contrary, the more Dino action (If you count Godzilla) the better.

I remember those. The artists made basically every dinosaur a carnivore... the hell? haha.

But it was cool to see the Behemoth and the Beast from 20000 Fathoms
