The only movie that ever comes close to being good as "Night of the living Dead" is "Day of the Dead" in my opinion.

That was also known as Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror (1981) right? The Zombi movies always seem confusing since you have so many of them? You have Zombie 4: After Death, Zombie 5: Killing Birds, Zombie 5: Revenge in the House of Usher, Zombie 6: Monster Hunter and Zombi 7 (aka Zombie '90: Extreme Pestilence). I was also told that Sexy Nights of the Living Dead (1980) is also given the title of Zombi 4: Cave Dwellers in Argentina?

Burial Ground is another Italian zombie film, but it's unrelated to Fulci's movie. So is Zombi 3, but that film is considered part of the "saga" because its production started as such, and Fulci was involved. Oh, and Zombi 6 is just an alternate title for the movie Absurd, which isn't a zombie film at all.
Every film should have at least one animal attack.

Nope. DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978) is equally as fantastic as those two.

Indeed, it's more of a cannibal film. IIRC, ABSURD is the sequel to ANTHROPOPHAGUS.

It was not really a sequel, it had the same actors but it was hardly a sequel going from what I've seen. I don't know why when the movie was released on VHS that they released the title under Zombie 6?

Well, I've never seen ABSURD, so I have no idea. From what I understand, it's more like HALLOWEEN than ANTHROPOPHAGUS, according to some people.

As for the ZOMBIE 6 title, it was simply done for marketing. The Italians did that a lot in those days.

Dawn is fun but I don't think it has the same sense of dread Night and Day have. The characters are just screwed in those two movies. In my mind it makes those two a lot stronger.

That's nice, but it doesn't require a "sense of dread" to be a damn good zombie flick. The general consensus is that all three of them are classics.

Can't argue with that, but I always prefer "Day of the Dead" anyways.

Whilst I havent seen all of those it is still a good list. I was about to ask if anyone had seen Dead Set. I thought that was awesome. A great blend of zombie action and darkly satirical humor. I would like to see more Zombie movies set in the past. I would love to see Vikings or Samurai or Redcoats in a good zombie movie!

Like the 13th warrior except set in a larger settlement and obviously with zombies.

Good zombies mind you. None of those 28 days later guys (Great film though) The nice slow walking dead variety.

SHUTUP OR DIE

Zombie virus that spreads through language. How gonzo and cool is that? It's also nice seeing a film that uses something specifically Canadian as a backdrop for a genre film (in this case, tension between anglophone and francophone regions of Canada).

Fair enough. DAY OF THE DEAD is one of my all time favorite films, so I definitely understand.

Speaking of the "Dead" trilogy, they are desperately in need of Blu-ray reissues.

^ I agree. I have DAWN, which I only bothered with because I didn't know any better at the time (and it was dirt cheap). I haven't bothered with DAY, because the DVD looks decent enough when upscaled in 1080p. I'll just wait for a re-issue before upgrading to a BD release.

Night of the Creeps
Resident Evil Franchise
The Return of the Living Dead
The Evil Dead Trilogy
Dawn of the Dead(Remake)-have to say, loved this film to no end when I saw it at the theater. However, after all was said and done, I do have to say that the flick's rather glum ending left me a little down in the end. I remember taking my dog Blue with me to bed that night I saw it that night for some company. But still pretty good nonetheless.

I thought it was a great remake but yeah the ending could have been a little better. I loved some of the characters. CJ was my favorite.

Anyone read any good zombie books?
