When JP3 came out i was pissed they just killed off the T-Rex.... He is the star of Jurassic park, Rex is usually the first predatory Dinosaur young kids hear about, he is the one most of us an even our parent's grew up with.

So just because some prick like Horner dislikes T-Rex doesn't give him the right to just wipe out this animal an replace him with one at the time we knew ''Nothing'' about.

It's been a decade, I have gotten over it... I still hate JP3 with a passion it's a shitty movie all together, but that scene also didn't help.

An the fact's have came in that Spino mostly fed on fish or scavenged, an with that note i am satisfied. T-Rex is the star of Jurassic park an if they ever make a 4th installment, T-Rex better be the main predator an on that Logo or else just forget it.

I don't care that the Spino won the battle, that the Raptors are 10 feet long, OR that the Diloph spit's acidic goo.

These aren't REAL dinosaurs. They are genetically altered dinos. They could of taken attributes from the other creatures' DNA that was used to create them.

And in the books, Wu even says that they altered some of the Dinosaurs for audience entertainment IIRC. Explaining that they slowed the T-Rex down because it actually ran faster then typical audiences would think.

I complain about JPIII because it's a crappy movie. Nothing in the movie makes a whole lot of sense dramatically. Guess that happens when you throw out the script 5 weeks before production.

Just to clarify, the JP:Origins team is definitely far more focused on and concerned with telling a compelling story than we are with having a T-rex fight a Spino. :)

I just went on your facebook page and it said you'd be filming the trailer on May 8th, can we expect a trailer before the end of the summer?

Well, I just donated $1.

That gets my name in a special "thank you" section of the credits.

I still plan on donating more so I can get that blu-ray. But won't until I know what happens if the movie fails to be completed.

Will the DVD/Blu-ray be available even after the donation ends? I'd like to donate but I'm a bit broke right now..

Not sure. It's a non profit film, so I doubt it though. They are using the money from these DVD/BD sales to actually pay for the film. They can't sell it once it's complete.

Correct, we would not be able to sell the DVD/Blu-ray after we end production, because this is being done non-profit and all proceeds go directly to production.

That's the goal. The trailer will show a solid technical / cinematic / storyline teaser presentation of the film. We hope it will directly show just what this movie will be capable of and encourage people to sponsor the project. We simply can't do this with the degree of professionalism that we'd like to without financial support from the Jurassic Park/sci-fi/etc community. In addition to a great story, we want to have great equipment, great sets, great props, great actors, great CGI.

I still plan on donating more so I can get that blu-ray. But won't until I know what happens if the movie fails to be completed.

Really the only way this movie would fail to be completed is if Universal/Amblin served us with a cease and desist order. Other than that, everyone involved is highly dedicated to the project. We've got a strong group of professionals who simply love dinos and JP and want to make a really great short film. Julien and I have loved Jurassic Park since the first time each of us saw it, and our desire to make this short film is not going to just go away. We simply won't give up on it unless we're legally obligated too. We're still working on determining copyright issues. It's such a legal grey area and really hard to determine exactly what to do. We really are trying to proceed in the best way possible, but like the FAQ says, right now we just can't make any guarantees. Until we figure out how to get some sort of official "ok", we're going to have to just continue letting people know that we don't think there will be any issues, but it's not a 100% certainty.

So, I can understand the hesitancy and I respect that some people may feel uncomfortable backing the project. Here's the thing though: I would love to see a group of JP fans help fund this project (with a relatively small budget) and show that a community sponsored and supported fanfilm project can really shine and be something great.

To be frank I think its hyporisy to complain about the Rex vs Spino fight, then back it up with whatever paleontological evidence about Rexes being the real top predator, Jack Horner is a hack etc and still like Jurassic Park. The series has errors up the wazoo, some Fantasy Match outcome being the least of it.

I don't know about seeing another big budget Jurassic Park film, since Stan Winston, & Michael Crichton died, but a fan made prequel would be really cool to check. For me it would be like the Telltale game that ties in with the first movie. In my opinion, I think it's a great idea to see the dinosaurs again, T-rex, Spino, Raptors all of them. So far, from what I've seen, the Dinosaurs look absolutely fantastic, spared no expense.

The problem with Jurassic park is (an no i'm not going to say the T-Rex an Spino fight) is that everyone involved is a complete lazy piece of shit an not passionate about it.

There are some amazing talented writer's out there, (more bad then good) but with all the pull an power Spielberg has in Hollywood if he really wanted a fourth installment an actually wanted it to be good it wouldn't take much effort.

Regardless on if you like JP3 or not it is one lazy piece of shit of a film i have ever seen, Lazy Plot, Bad Dialog, Annoying characters, Tarzan style kid, Boring 2 min Rex an Spino fight, Talking Raptors, No Climax, an randomly threw in Spino out of nowhere an Ankylosaurus n Ceratosaurus had what 1 minute cameo's what a freaking waste.

Why not have Raptors fight dilhoposaurus?? Or T-Rex's take on Triceratop's??? Or a heard of Ceratosaurus take on Stego's???

Also Dinosaur's don't NEED to be on the mainland... Put them in an Atmosphere like ''Africa'' .. His the perfect setting for Raptors, Triceratop's, Hunters have to protect the people there due to lack of weapon's an protection from such extremely dangerous predators, Which could also bring back Grant an possibly Malcom an Hammond's kids to take care of them... Imagine T-Rex's hunting Elephant's an Spinosaurus at the waters edge (where its supposed to be) an hunting anything that gets close.. It could be an amazing film, finally getting away from the same old island route

You mean to tell me not one jack-ass in Hollywood can't make a half-way decent story out of that... Screw the mainland... an Screw further Genetic Tempering.. This isn't an Alien movie it's about Dinosaur's....

Universal an all the producers including Spielberg himself is purely lazy... Even what i suggested is more creative then anything in JP3 an most of the TLW an i can't write a story for shit.

To this day it amazes me at how much hate JP3 gets. I consider it to be the best of the trilogy.

(The best of the 3? That's a first) Your entitled to your opinion and i am glad you got something out of it. Though JP3 get's as much hate as TLW simply as i said because they didn't put forth much effort.

Spielberg pretty much phoned in most of TLW... Had he spent enough time with TLW as he did with JP.. TLW would have been huge, possibly bigger then JP.

The same goes for JP3 (read my post on the last page) So many simple little thing's done to that movie could have made SO much better..

What makes it even more depressing is the CGI is worse in them an it was nearly a decade later from the 1st, it was rushed an pretty much just a cash-in with no passion behind even making it..

I'm surprised it turned out the way it did.. If you read the production, the hell the cast went threw, an JP3 having the biggest budget of all 3 films, throwing the script out (including sets) out 5 weeks before shooting.... I'm amazing it didn't end up like SYFY's Sharktopus.

Jurassic park 4 will never happen because there's no passion, care or interest in putting forth any effort in making a new unique story or else they would have a decade ago... They'll wait till 2014/2015 latest 2016 an Reboot the Original Closer to the Novel, an do the same to The Lost World... Watch.

They were airing Jurassic Park and JP3 back-to-back not too long ago. (Not sure why they skipped The Lost World.)

To me, Jurassic Park III holds up a lot better than the first. After watching it again after so many years, the dialogue is just cheesy. The Lost World also, but that film suffers from just being overly long and boring.

Though I still consider the 1st Jurassic Park movie to be the absolute best, I don't think the 3rd film is as bad as everyone says, its a lot better than Lost World. Though like everyone else my only negative with Jurassic Park 3 is that there was little to no T-rex, had they made him win the the fight, or at least show him a few more times I would have liked the movie a little more. Still I have to admit, Spinosaurus is an awesome beast, the crocodile like head, the bigger arms, it was cool to see a new dinosaur that's just as formidable as T-rex, & I do consider Spino to be my 2nd favorite dino, after Rex. Other than that, I like the way all the other dinosaurs look, especially the Raptors they look awesome, I like how the female looks sort of like the original raptors, while the males are more colorful and have feathers on the back of their heads. Another thing I like about the movie is that we finally get to see the Pteranodons, since they were originally going to attack the human characters in the end of Lost World. Overall Jurassic Park 3, I like it for what it is, it just needed a little more dinosaur action.
