I'm guessing they'll throw other suprises at us, like T-rex vs Giganotosaurus, or Spinosaurus vs Charcaradontasaurus.

What are some of the species of dinosaurs that we'll get to see in the film?
Although we haven't determined 100% exactly which animals will appear in the film, there is a very high likelyhood of the following dinosaurs:
-Tryranosaurus Rex
-Velociraptor
-Triceratops
-Brachiosaurus
-Stegosaurus
-Compsognathus
And a moderate likelyhood of the following dinosaurs:
-Parasauralopholus
-Pachysephalosaurus
-Dilophosaurus

Just skimmed the website and I'm gonna guess that Spinosaurus and the others you mentions are a no go ;)

Maybe it's because for many by that point, T. Rex was their hero.

Maybe it's because Horner, a greatly respected paleontologist at that time, threw caution (and, arguably, logic) to the wind and leapt at the chance to replace Rex with something that science now suggests was actually the weaker therapod.

Maybe it's because that because of that fight, we now have to suffer idiots that think Spinosaurus was the ultimate death machine and don't want to hear the contrary.

Take your pick.

All of the above. It irritates me to see people say an actual encounter between the two wold end like it did in the film. T.Rex was basically second only to Godzilla when I was little, imagine a childhood hero of yours getting killed, and if that's not bad enough the movie was pretty mediocre. And there's Horner...God I hate Horner...

Agreed. i can understand him featuring a film where T-rex isn't the big bad, but him exagerrating the Spinosaurus to the point of a super predator? The same dinosaur that was said to only hunt fish and small dinosaurs?

If I were him, I would've had the Rex and Spino fight, but the film continues on before we see who wins, so we can figure it out ourselves and therefore it would actually be fun.

Don't count the Spinosaurus out just yet. We're in the works of trying to see what we can do to bring the Spino back in JP:O. The main goal is to make sure it fits reasonably well in the story though. Throwing the Spino in to just show that we can would seem cheap, so we want to be confident that it either makes sense, or is badass enough that people will overlook it if it doesn't ;).

I sent a message to the JP origins facebook, but it can't hurt to ask here.

What would happen with people's money that they donated if for some reason the film failed to release? Would we be refunded? Or given some new rewards?

I don't mean to sound ignorant but if you guys could do something similar to this,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv0wjS3nvso
you'd have masses of Rex fans fapping to your fan film, I could see an intro battle between a Spino and a Rex or two taking place on Isla Sorna in modern time, then cut away to the actual film. Now, that alone would be worth a $100 :)

Also quick question, will the human characters be CG or will you have actual actors?

Ianc, are you a member of any Jurassic Park forums, perchance? I used to frequent one in particular a while back.

I don't think the haters thought thoroughly about the fight enough to begin bothering about the second one. And its far from the only palaeontological innacuracy in JP- if anything one of the most minor ones (T-rex's prehensile tongue, 10 feet raptors, 5 feet frilled poison spitting Dilophosaurs)Those people ought to get over it. And I have never seen anyone older than 10 (and why anyone of that age would annoy one is beyond me) postulate fervently that Spinosaurus is the ultimate death machine- its always Rex fans posting silly videos of the 'REAL REX VS SPINO FIGHT!!' on redtube or other nonsense.

The first reason, yeah. Doesn't half justify their butthurt though- only makes it worse.

Am I seriously the only one who didn't give a damn about who would win in the Rex vs Spino fight and just watched and *gasp* enjoyed it for what it was?

^Nope.avi. I liked that fight the way it was, and I wouldn't care if either one won the fight.

When JP3 came out i was pissed they just killed off the T-Rex.... He is the star of Jurassic park, Rex is usually the first predatory Dinosaur young kids hear about, he is the one most of us an even our parent's grew up with.

So just because some prick like Horner dislikes T-Rex doesn't give him the right to just wipe out this animal an replace him with one at the time we knew ''Nothing'' about.

It's been a decade, I have gotten over it... I still hate JP3 with a passion it's a shitty movie all together, but that scene also didn't help.

An the fact's have came in that Spino mostly fed on fish or scavenged, an with that note i am satisfied. T-Rex is the star of Jurassic park an if they ever make a 4th installment, T-Rex better be the main predator an on that Logo or else just forget it.

I don't care that the Spino won the battle, that the Raptors are 10 feet long, OR that the Diloph spit's acidic goo.

These aren't REAL dinosaurs. They are genetically altered dinos. They could of taken attributes from the other creatures' DNA that was used to create them.

And in the books, Wu even says that they altered some of the Dinosaurs for audience entertainment IIRC. Explaining that they slowed the T-Rex down because it actually ran faster then typical audiences would think.

I complain about JPIII because it's a crappy movie. Nothing in the movie makes a whole lot of sense dramatically. Guess that happens when you throw out the script 5 weeks before production.

Just to clarify, the JP:Origins team is definitely far more focused on and concerned with telling a compelling story than we are with having a T-rex fight a Spino. :)
