Saw this movie the other night. I was very impressed for the most part. Ted was actually a fairly likable character, despite the emphasis in commercials on his 'jerkass' side. John and Lori's romance took over the film a bit more than I liked, but Ted kept a role going. The performances were quite good, and the plot wasn't terribly intricate but there weren't many scenes that felt like they were only around for the sake of comedic value, like Family Guy will do on occasion.
My main beef was
*SPOILERS!*
I disliked the subplot leading into the climax with Robert and his father, it felt too 'easy' and somewhat nonsensical given Ted's status as a living being, and I felt the ending was a tad on the hunky-dory side. The very last scene was too focused on John and Lori and felt relatively inconsequential to Ted's survival.
