Why do you people want this old shows back on? Like Dragonball Z and Reboot?

You can buy Reboot on DVD cheap as well and Dragonball Z?! WTF?!

Asking that would be like asking why would anyone want TNT Monster Vision back even now, its a time-less piece, was a part of people's lives, and we want it back. We missed the action block that originally got most of us into anime in the first place, and showed enough anime to change the history of a cultural focus.

Its kinda like watching a Godzilla Marathon. Yes, we know its out on DVD, yes we know we can get it for a cheap price. But there's just something that buying it on DVD cannot provide when watching it on TV. When the Godzilla Mini Marathon came on TCM, a lot of fans watched it, and despite the dated quality of a few films, they still enjoyed it. Its because that experience that we knew before long ago during the times of Sci-fi, AMC, and TCM (To some degree) has remain lost for many years. Godzilla movies no longer came on often, or did not come on at all. But when offered the experience again on TV, most of us will most likely jumped on board and enjoyed the ride. The same is happening with Toonami and their fans, the only difference is that Toonami fans actually pulled it off and are getting what we want.

idk about others, but seeing something on TV just feels different then popping in a DVD or loading a torrent to me.

Even though I own all 28 Godzilla films, I still get excited and watch them when they occasionally pop up on TV.

Watching a Godzilla movie on TV is not the same as watching Dragonball Z, Reboot, G Gundam or whatever. Godzilla movies ARENT shown often. And Im sure TNT Monster Vision showed MORE then just Godzilla (right?).

Actually, they are the same. Or at least very similar. Godzilla movies aren't shown often, very true, but neither G Gundam, Gundam Wing, Reboot, Tenchi Muyo, Yu Yu Hakusho, Sailor Moon etc, are shown as well. In fact, they aren't shown at all, and the Godzilla films themselves at least are shown once in recent years on TV, even if its just the original most of the time. Unlike the listing given above. The only one with such luck is Dragon Ball Z Kai, but almost every fan I've encounter trashes that version and prefers any non-Kai version.(Yes, even with the knowledge that filler would be presented).

TNT Monster Vision showed more then just Godzilla, that is correct. However, I used it as a example since in structure, it is the same as Toonami. A programming block that has a host who showcased visual material based on a certain genre/subject on Television. A programming block that is a timeless piece, that has been a apart of people's lives, and is something that I have seen people want back (Even in recent years). It showed classic horror films like Dracula, or Wolfman, it showed Giant Japanese Monster films, and of course, Sci-Fi films/American Monster films like Tarantula or The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms. It displayed multiple forms of content, very much like Toonami.

My main problem is all these shows were already aired - ALOT when Toonami was. Now theyre going to put them on at night and edit them (youre not going to see nudity like in Tenchi Muyo! or gore like in Berzerk!).

Dragonball Z is on other channels but why all these Gundams? How about the NEW Gundams and not the old ones? There arent any new anime they can show that are uncut? How about new One Piece, Naruto?

I agree with Wataru, if they do show DBZ then it's going to to edited or they will only play the Ultimate Uncut episodes from 2005. If people really are nostalgic for shows from the 90's and early 00's then you are better off buying the DVD's. The Seasons Sets of DBZ are okay if you are just a casual fan but you are always better off buying the Dragon Boxes.

I really don't mind not being able to see any nudity in Tenchi Muyo to be honest, and of course some things will be edited, but from what I can tell, most of the Toonami fans don't really care about that kind of thing. Even when the campaign was only beginning, everyone knew that things weren't going to be completely displayed just like that for the shows.

Fans have given thought of mixing new anime with old to give it a fresh take. If you've missed the post Blackout had given, FUNimation is giving the fans the chance to do just that. And like he said, if you want a new show, then tweet them, and make sure that you have lots of back-up on that suggestion. Fans are asking for One-Piece, and for Naruto as well, but to some degree. No one wants the PTS Naruto series, they want Shippuden, but the deal with that is Disney XD held the rights for Shippuden. Of course, the show doesn't come on anymore on that channel, so the situation is up in the air. Can the rights be worked out and aired before the 26th? Or will there have to be a case about it?

The new One-piece isn't going to sail well, the horrible English dub of the younger One Piece series is as haunting and fresh as Dragon Ball Evolution when it arrived on set. Besides that, Adult Swim will most likely want to start from the very beginning of a series. So they'll need to show the old One Piece first before taking any swing at the newer version. Shippuden on Disney XD worked out fine since Cartoon Network had Naruto and finished the series before Toonami had been cancelled. So everyone mostly knew what was going on.

Yeah, I don't think anyone's willing to spend any cash when the content is being presented to you for free. Especially when you know that people have better things and uses for their money in general.

The only lineup I ever cared for was the original 1995 (reruns of Voltron &Thundercats, as well as the Real Adventures of Jonny Quest) The first two I have on DVD, the latter, is slowly being offered throughy WB's MOD program (half the series is avialable now). As for Gundam, yeah I have pretty much everything Bandai USA offered. It would be nice to get something new, but Bandai USA isn't licensing any more Gundam series sad to say. So the new Toonami does nothing for me.

^ There's no point in having Gem on Toonami if its already on the Hub. But I agree with Voltron.

Not everyone gets Nicktoons, but I still doubt Toonami will have Dragon Ball anything.

I'm hoping for Rurouni Kenshin, myself. And some Zoids.

And I will never get this because all the dragon box sets are SLIGHTY better video quality, SLIGHTLY better audio, a SLIGHTLY better aspect ratio, and PROBABLY SLIGHTLY better quality of the footage with little film grain. I never got why that makes it Better because you know it's SLIGHTLY better and adds NOTHING NEW TO IT! I hate people acting like snobs, not towards you, about those sets saying they're God's gift to DBZ.

What!? They added the recaps and episode previews to them!? Daaaaamn it's totally worth sinking 50 bucks for something I already have but is SLIGHTLY better and adds those OH SO important recaps and episode previews!

It's just plain dumb to act that way because they offer NOTHING new, la sigh. Chances are it's just better to buy the orange bricks because they are cheaper and you're not losing anything really. The aspect ratio is not really a problem as you lose NOTHING, the video quality is pretty good and watchable, and the audio is good too. Course I think the dragon box has less sets but still there's really no difference to act like a snob and say the orange bricks are crap.

No, dude, as someone who's seen both, I can say that the Boxes have a very superior picture quality. Especially when it comes to the earlier sets (like Season Two- ugghhh).

Well, you don't have to say anything....Just tune in on the 26th and enjoy it. Its what T.O.M would have wanted :)

Oh and,

So for those wondering or interested about the real schedule, well, you'll have to wait. This proves once again, that the listing TV guide provided is a assumption/place holder since Adult Swim has not truly set things in stone yet.

And of course,
