I know I'm going to regret this, but I'm going to bring it up anyway, because it works here: Battle Royale. I couldn't care less if the movie accurately depicts what happens in the manga. What I care about is if the movie is entertaining and enjoyable to watch. And it is. Hell, even my favorite movie of all time, Apocalypse Now, is based off a novel, "The Heart Of Darkness". Is it faithful to the novel? From what I can gather, no. But I don't care. It's still one of the best films I've ever seen. Same goes for Battle Royale.

It's not that far off base, actually. Aside from the Vietnam War and various modern elements, it follows the same basic plot, and has all the major characters. (Kurtz, Kilgore, whatever the Hell Robert Duvall's name was...)

Are you a verteran? I love that movie, and I've heard that it's even more powerful if you've served in the military.
Before it can be filmed, drawn, acted or programed, it must be written.

No, I've never been in a war. I'm not in the military, and at this point never wish to serve in it.

I like the avatar because the image is cool and I pick my user name because I'm a fan of the character. Just I'm a fan that does not mean that I have to like everything related with the character. I haven't read the recent comics of Spawn in the past year since I have lost respect with Todd McFarlane (His artwork is still good though) with him being become a total sell out. He has been going through the George Lucas route lately since he has put no love or care with his creation in the past several years.

Oh yeah, undoubtedly. Part of the problem is that Spawn was supposed to die after his power ran out, but he went and killed God or something? I mean, I wouldn't swear to that, but it should seem they artifically extended the character's lifespan.

Another problem was that it got too gothy. I mean, it was rough to begin with, but then they just turned it into all this devil worship and fire and brimstone and Neil Gaiman making love to Tim Burton and...*shudders* Oh God!

Finding it odd to see that so many people prefer the first Spider-Man to the second. I always thought the second was, like, universally loved. Anyways...

1. Spider-Man 2
2. Batman Begins
3. The Avengers
4. Iron Man
5. The Dark Knight
6. Thor
7. The Dark Knight Rises
8. Spider-Man

Wow. I totally just realized I haven't seen very many superhero movies. Others I've seen that didn't make the list are Spider-Man 3, X3, and Fantastic Four '04.

1. Captain America: The First Avenger
2. The Amazing Spider-Man
3. The Incredible Hulk
4. Iron Man
5. Thor
6. Iron Man 2
7. Hellboy
8. Judge Dredd (okay yeah, so I like it. Not my fault I find it enjoyable)
9. X-Men 2
10. The Dark Knight

Once Dredd comes out, Dark Knight's probably gonna get knocked off the list.

1.) Thor
2.) The Avengers
3.) Watchmen The Ultimate Cut
4.) Hellboy
5.) X2 X-Men United
6.) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)
7.) Hellboy II The Golden Army
8.) The Incedible Hulk
9.) Spider-Man
10.) Blade II

Honorable Mentions: Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1991), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II and III.

Updated for 2012.

This is just what I enjoy watching over and over. What I consider the best superhero films is totally different. Superman (1978) would be #1.

I cant bring myself to put Iron Man or Iron Man II on the list. The re-watchability factor of the films is low. Once you see it, you dont need to see it again for a long time. The sake for BB and TDK but TDK moreso then BB.

I didn't like Raimi's films to begin with but, I always thought the second film was incredibly boring and I don't understand the praise it's gotten.

I watched it a second time, since I originally hated it (and Scott Pilgrim) and I do like it more (and I love Scott Pilgrim the movie but hate the comic/manga). But I would prefer a Big Daddy movie over Kick-Ass.

See, what is good about many comic book/superhero films is that they are very enjoyable. Although some notable examples are:

Avengers

Iron Man

Thor

And the such. As for the best superhero movies, I would say that Avengers and Dark Knight are tied for #1.
If you have nothing to lose, than you have nothing to fight for.

Most people don't put them in the same category given that they are totally different from each other. They both have a totally different style and story telling. If we are going throw in manga in these top 10 list then I guess I should add Dragon Ball Evolution in the Top 10 worst comic book films.

The only difference between the common/standard American/Canadian/European comic and the Japanese/Korean/Chinese/SE Asian "manga" or "manwa" is how theyre distributed. In Asia, the "comics"/manga are collected in weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or bi-monthly publications like Shonen Jump or whatever and most manga is B&W but every month or 6 moths it's published on glossy stock paper in color.

Graphic Novels (TPBs/HC) in America and Manga/Tanboukens are also similiar.

They're regional distribution and publication differences.

But comics and manga are all one thing - periodicals. But when people discuss comic books, theyre generally refering to the western style "comic book" and manga to the eastern style "manga".

If you see "comic book" think Marvel, DC, Image, DHP. If you see "manga" think Shonen Jump, Dragon Ball, etc etc....

It's all the same to me. Drawn characters in panels often where the story is told with thought and dialogue bubbles. The only major difference to me is the way you read them. Western comics are read left to right. Manga is read right to left. Anime and cartoons are essentially the same thing, so why not manga and comics?

Exactly this. I really dislike the way people so adamantly separate eastern and western media. It's like the people who insist that a kaiju can only be of eastern origin, when the word kaiju is used to refer to any monster in its native language. I might not be Mexican, but I'm still an humano.
