J.J. Abrams talks sequel for the upcoming movie.

I loved the first one and I will check it out for sure. I still want to know on who they want for the villain since I remember reading rumors of Khan appearing the sequel?

Khan isn't going to be in the sequel as far as I know and Kirk is supposed to have a love interest in it, possibly Carol Marcus.

The one thing I hated about that film was the excessive use of bright lights and reflection.

I think it worked for the opening battle but was overused after that.

Yeah. I liked the darker mood this movie had compared to the series. Spock was pretty awesome

Hahaha, unlikely. This is Kirk's time, not Picard's.

Well they did do crazy time travel stuff in the first one, but yeah probably won't see the Borg.

Kirk vs Borg would be interesting though

I was amazed at how much I enjoyed the first one so I hope the second doesn't disappoint. I'd really like to see Khan played by... DANNY TREJO!

Klingons and Kirk Prime would be cool too.

I thought the first Trek was entertaining. I didn't expect JJ to f**k up the entire Trek history like he did. Thought the film could of been a lot better, but I will continue to see the new films.

As expected, a lot of Trekkies or Trekkers were pissed off after seeing the film. Can't blame them, but like I said, I thought the movie was at least entertaining. If JJ wants to get some of the Trekkies back in the theater, I suggest adding some Klingon action. Give the fans what they really want!

JJ's ST is not canon. It's basically another 'dimension'.

Trekkies hated this movie? Every hardcore Star Trek fan I talk to say this is the best Star Trek movie since Wrath of Khan. (There are alot in my school, around my friends, and my mother and both my brothers are hardcore fans. I just watch the movies and thats it but they have seen every series except animated series.)

Movie kicked ass. I didn't even notice the lens flare until people started complaining about it.

And if anyone occupies the upper-echelons of elitist nerd snobbery, it's Trekkers. I could care less what they had to say. Abrams could've remastered the first six episodes into a singular film and they would still bitch.

Vulcan being destroyed - Rubbish!
Spocks mother killed - Rubbish!
Spock and Uhura are lovers - Rubbish!
The way Kirk becomes Captain - Rubbish!
Engine room looks similar to a modern day factory - Rubbish!
Kirk finding old Spock - C'mon man.
Kirk & old Spock finding Scotty - C'mon man.
Super Transporter - Rubbish!

I'll stop there - lol

The movie is entertaining, and I went to see it with an open mind, but I think JJ thought outside the box too much, IMO.

You just sound like you're upset over the new canon, those aren't bad things at all. JJ made a new universe, because adding to the old one would have just muddled the old canon. I like that he created a new canon, people get hung up over what is and isn't canon far too often.

Wrong.
Those are horrible, third grade, no talent plot points at best.
New canon is fine. As long as it's quality new canon.
But the list of new canon he presented are prime examples of the typical no talent hack writing we see every day on the SyFy channel.

The fact that so many fans bought into such horrible writing in this film proves that quality has no place in movies anymore.
The movie is one long cliche after another from start to finish. One over the top punch in the face after another.
It's relentless. And everyone loved it.

Everyone says they hate cliches. But the horrible truth is. When they are strung together in a huge two hour long pile. You guys gobble it up like candy and call it "quality" film making.
Transformers, Avatar, StarTrek, etc. are nothing but a long string of horrible cliche's strung together for two hours.
And you guys love every minute of it.

They don't use cliches in film anymore. Today's films ARE one long two hour cliche.
