Total Recall (2012)

Postby Hellspawn28 » Sun Apr 10, 2011 9:26 am

A new version of Total Recall is in works and is stated they'll be going for an adaption closer to the original Philip K. Dick novel. Even though they want you to think it's a remake because that's how Hollywood work now these days .

The new movie will be out on August 3rd 2012, and will be directed by Len Wiseman (Underworld 1-2, and Live Free or Die Hard).

I'd love a more faithful adaptation. Cast someone credible this time, Hollywood!

The original is a classic and is nearly 21 years old, I doubt the general public forgot about the original movie. Why not make a sequel instead?

Because it wouldn't have Arnie, that's why. And that's why I have no interest in this movie.

Me too. At least that's one good thing remakes can do.

He could return for the sequel since he is already back at acting.

The ending scene with the bulging eyes and suffocation on the Martian surface. I lol'd at that the first time I saw it.

Total Recall doesnt need a remake. Nor does it need a sequel.

If you dont own it on DVD or BRD, locate the special edition Mars box set. It's worth the money.

I might catch this if it's on TV but I dont care to spend money on a ticket or a DVD or BRD.

Total Recall 2070. No it wasnt a sequel. A series based very loosely on the novel. It was HORRIBLE.

That's... doubtful.

The original was a 5 page short story where Douglas Quail is unconscious for most of it, with it all taking place in the Rekall office, and it ends with a comedic punchline about an alien invasion.

The studio mentions it's a closer version to the novel and I wish they add some sub title so that people don't think it's a remake. Rumor has it that the movie might be PG-13.

I won't be able to picture anybody but Arnold. Even if the original is cheesy as hell, it's fun.
