So... I just realized that today (give or take a day; I'm not 100% sure) is the one-year anniversary of my joining the Herd. That's kind of a strange thing to think about. I've spent the last year obsessing over a My Little Pony cartoon. This time last year, I was bored out of my skull, sick of seeing pony avatars everywhere I went (even on a Godzilla forum, of all things. Thank you, Hayes and GTU), and looking for something to pass the time while waiting for season four of Clone Wars. I wound up not watching most of Clone Wars, because my entertainment priorities had been drastically re-ordered by the time it premiered.

Man... on the one hand, it feels like I've been a fan of this show forever. At the same time, it seems like yesterday when I begrudgingly decided to give the first episode a shot. I was home alone at the time, but I still locked all the doors so there'd be no chance my family would get home early and catch me watching it. A year later, I've converted one of my brothers and gladly wear a Join The Herd t-shirt.

Yeah. So, it's been a hell of a year. I never would've expected to spend it like I did, but I certainly wouldn't trade it. I think I'll celebrate by re-watching the pilot episodes today, if I get a chance. Haven't seen them since November, anyway.

^ Flying Scootaloo? Interesting, very interesting. I really hope she gets an episode or two to herself next season, and gets to do something awesome for a change. Her whole 'pathetic laughingstock' shtick was funny for a while, but it's starting to get sad. We also need to meet her parents so the 'orphan' thing can go away.

In other news, 'Dr. Hooves' is apparently the official name for hourglass guy now:



I preferred 'Time Turner', to be honest, but I'm sure all the Dr. Who fans will be happy about this.

Damn, you beat me to it. Which is of no consequence whatsoever because we're getting official pony comic books. The art looks awesome, from the sample picture. Hopefully the writing can match it. I'm finally getting impatient, now. Fall cannot get here soon enough.

The art IS awesome. Which is why it now my iPod wallpaper.
