No. Nope. Nuh-uh. Actually turning it into a serious romance just ruins the relationship, plus there's the species and age difference. Seriously, Spike is a baby (a mature, more kid-like one, yes, but still a baby) and Rarity is a full grown mare. Just... no.

I'd much prefer they explore his relationship with Twilight. She's like his mom/big sister, I hate when people make Rarity seem more important to him.

Spirit Ghidorah 2010 wrote:Like that DJ-PON3 ep? I know the creators give good fanservice, but this looks a bit much.

Eeyup. Sounds more like a fan story than an actual episode.

On a vaguely related note, I don't think it would be unreasoble to get DJ-PON3/Viynl Scratch in another background role or maybe even mentioned by name. She did get a toy after all, they must know about her popularity.

Hmm... How 'bout an ep where Spike thinks he's a rogue dragon?

Yeah, yeah, I know. It sounds just like that Tarzan episode of rogue elephants, but still, it could go into Spike's psychological side and see the kind of things he came to believe.

Greetings,

I'm not a fan of the show, but I noticed yesterday MLP:FIM season 1 had been added to Neflix instant que along with TF:Prime & GI:Joe renegades. enjoy! 8-)

The whole April fools joke at EQD was stupid and insulting to people who have liked MLP since BEFORE the bandwagon and honestly if I was one of the customizers featured I would be offended.

You know how most of you hate Zilla/G:U/etc fanboys who dis the Japanese G movies because they're older? Same deal. You're the Zilla fanboy.

Hangonhangonhangon.... You should check the comments, at least in the custom entry I put, I recall that any negative comment about previous generations got a lot of thumbs down, while the contrary happened to the positive ones. There were many who took the time to explain that dissmissing previous generations is wrong and everything that needed to be said. I think the ones who act like you describe are just noobs and people afraid of being judged for the very idea of liking anything related to MLP, but it doesn't represent the core of this phenomenom.

While personally I find some of the original molds a bit odd, it's undeniable the amount of talent and effort put into those customs. I was specially amazed at the 'Howl's Moving Castle' one. I took the 'joke' as just the very idea of EQD covering all the generations; while they did point out some things like the G3 baby ponies, I think entries like the one about customs served as an introduction.

The (very accurate) Zilla-fan comparison just made my night.

I personally have nothing against the older generations. Yes, I've adopted the standard brony attitude of sneering contempt for them, but I don't take said attitude seriously. I am forced to grudgingly respect the older gens, because FIM obviously couldn't exist without them.

I've never seen the first three generations, and can't really judge them, but they did lay the base for Friendship is Magic. Wouldn't feel... fair to just hate them just 'cause I'm 'spose to.

Unfortunately, the ability to control the actions of other fans is still beyond me. Oh well, back to tweaking the Fan o' Manipulator 2000.

Equestria Daily just apologized in the lastest roundup:

A Note on Older Gen Ponies

It seems we angered the older gen people a bit with our April Fools gag, and we do apologize for that! It wasn't our intention to insult any of you.

There were also a pretty large amount of negative comments about the older ponies. I admit, I was also to blame for some of them (Celestia/Twilight weight jokes for example). I ask that the actual g4 bronies who took part in the harassment please cut it back now that the event is over. The older gen folks were here first, and have hundreds of talented artists in their ranks. Bombing their Deviant Art pages and forums is just straight up uncool.

On a happier note, rapper mc chris (sic) made a song about FiM for April's Fools: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... iau836Bnfo

^That, or someone completely out of left feild that only Pinkie Reasoning could catch.

I dunno who's gonna be more fun, Pinkie or Twilight. Unexpected genius or adorkableness? Hm...

If the previous episode is any indication, it could be Celestia.

I'm looking forward to seeing another griffin in the ponyverse.

New episode is good! I liked it. Not certainly the best, but it's humorous nonetheless. :)

Not bad at all, certainly a big step up from last week. I had very low expectations for this one, and was sure the writer would go the obvious route and have Pinkie herself as the culprit. But that obviously was not the case, so hats off to Amy Keating Rogers for keeping me guessing.

Pros:

- Gustav. A moustache-twirling French griffon would be great enough, but the silent movie bit catapulted him into awesome territory.

- Pony Joe! I never thought we'd see him again. The James Bond thing was hilarious, there's no way we won't get a few dozen fanfics out of it. Also, Donutopia is Best Dessert of the series. Period.

- So Fluttershy has tail extensions, and now Rarity wears fake eyelashes. Is anything about these ponies actually real? Soon it'll probably turn out that Scootaloo really is a chicken...

- Celestia and the cake. So the CMCs definitely got that right, at least.

- Twilight is Best Detective.

Cons: N/A.

So an enjoyable episode overall. Easily my favorite of this season's Pinkie eps. 4/5 and Upper-Mid Tier. And now, we enter the final week of the season. It's a little depressing, but I expect to see another creativity explosion from the fandom over the summer. There's certainly a lot of good fanfic material that hasn't been used yet.
