I love that Idris Elba is the lead in both this and Prometheus. Guy skreeonk deserves it, truly one of the greatest actors around today.

I did the same for The Avengers and am doing the same for TDKR, Godzilla (once we get more info), and this. I don't like knowing too much so the trailer is about all I go for.

^ Agree. The Avengers was showed to hell in advertising, Tv Spots, etc. Glad i skipped all of that and just went for
the movie. A more satisfiying experience in the theater.

I don't think I'll be able to resist looking at some monster designs if they come out. I don't want to know too many plot details or anything like that, though.

Some Monster Arts dont spoil the movie anyway. (I think...) but as long as we dont see any clips from the movie,
we are ok.

Okay I'll admit I haven't been following this and have no clue what it's about. And I don't feel like skimming through 17+ pages. Is this giant monsters and when is it supposed to come out?

Good to hear. It just isn't a kaiju movie if stuff doesn't wind up broken.

One thing about the synopsis, though... it mentions 'legions' of kaiju are involved. I hope that doesn't mean we'll just be getting a swarm of reletively weak, non-descript kaiju. I want each one to be a capable, memorable enemy in its own right. Quality over quantity.

Looking at that picture of Idris Alba makes me think of the concept art for the mutant soldiers from GFW

Now im starting to think Pacific Rim will end up being what GFW should have been

His armor reminds me of the those awful super suits from the first GI Joe movie.

^ It does but the armor looks awesome in its own way.

Hope that the monsters are different (ala War Of The Monsters) instead of being all similar.

I think we'll get a larger variety of monsters. I mean, look at Del Toro's other work. There's a lot of work that goes into designing a variety of creatures for his films. Hellboy II in particular has a variety of creatures on display. Just look at the troll market scene. I don't see it being out of the realm of reality to see large amounts of kaiju, but only having one or two take precedence.

Del Toro has said there will be a variety of monsters in the film - from crustacean to reptilian.

The problem with the ones in GI Joe was that it was....well, GI Joe. Those suits had just as much reason to be in the filma as alien invaders did in Battleship. This is different in that it's something original and isn't going off of a past product.

Nice, more information about the movie is starting to appear...hopefully by the time of Comic Con we get a
clip of it or a Teaser.

Wikipedia clearly states that the monsters are KAIJU, but the IMDb says that it's an 'alien invasion'. I hope IMDb is wrong - the dead horse that's getting beaten is an alien one!!! -_-

Anyhow, I can't wait!
