The fact that this show is getting decent reviews and a lot of fans is more then enough for a second season.

I wouldnt call a 3 point drop over 7 weeks 'decent'. Started at 9 and dipped to 6.8 and back to 7 mostly because a dinosaur was in it.

The higher the ratings, the more commercial time sells for, which means the future of a TV show. If the show isnt pulling the ratings wanted to sell commercial time in a timeslot, it gets moved or canceled.

I think it this drops below 5, it'll get shifted to another night and if below 4 it'll get shitcanned.

Pretty much. I haven't come across any fan of this show either, but that's just my anecdotal evidence.

The badass Empirosaur was only a diversion? And is held off so easily? Really? Why bring in such a big bad of a dino only to shrug it off as a tool of the sixers? Fox, when you find a way to bring dinosaurs into your typical drama show, DO SOMETHING NOTABLE WITH THEM.

Yeah, that was kind of lame. It would have been cooler if some people would have gotten eaten in the process.

At least. With the way they showed the thing in the trailer, I was expecting it to go on a rampage and force Taylor and Mira to team up to save their people. THAT would have been cool.

The sonic wave was pretty wicked though. Must've sucked for the people who were near any shelter.

A lone dinosaur appears and eats the entire episode's budget.
The son acts angsty.

If youve seen ANY of the episodes, then youve seen thsi one. It's basically the same every episode. Just interchangeable dinos. Raptors, Slashers, Spinos..

I just watched last nights episode ....

...sorry what?

That entire Taylor vs Komodo scene was a HUGE let down. And apple trees?!

CENTRALIZE THE PLOT !! ARGH!!!! ...I'll keep watching. At this rate it'll make 2 seasons and get sold to ABC who will run it on ABC Family then sell it to SyFy.

Considering there are DINOSAURS running around, a proto-komodo (Rhyme!) was pretty silly to bring in as the main beastie. EVEN if the design was wicked. The creatures in this series tend to get pushed into side stories, huh?

New epIsode was pretty wicked in terms of something actually skreeonk happening

SPOILER ALERT

(we get too learn more about the backstory of Taylor and Terra Nova, Lucas, etc) it was pretty awesome and a tear dropper.

But yeah, other then that it needs MORE DINOS for god sake.

Next episodes plot...
EVEN MORE SPOILERSSS READ AT YOUR OWN RISE

While in the jungle, Mira reveals more to Taylor about her plans, and provides information about his son. They must also work together to evade a ferocious predator. Meanwhile, Jim is closer to uncovering the Sixer spy's identity as the spy attempts to cover his trail. Also, the Ankylosaur hatchling that Zoe has been caring for is rapidly growing too big to remain in Terra Nova.

Episode 8, "Vs.", was fairly good. I'm glad Taylor isn't a bad guy, at least.
The teaser for the next episode looks promising - but then, so did the teaser for ep. 6.

That was.... INCREDIBLY boring.

The dragonfly was the spy? Seriously?

It took 9 episodes to get to Taylor's son and THAT'S it?! God that was a severe let down.

Honestly, Im about to dump this series.

Ah, finally a Taylor-and-Mira-have-to-join-forces-against-a-common-enemy episode. That's what Nightfall should have been, but this is an acceptable substitute.

Hope no one got too attatched but a few days ago it was announced:
Fox cancels 'Terra Nova'

Fox has cancelled prehistoric dino drama "Terra Nova" after one season, ending months of will-they-or-won't-they speculation. Studio 20th Century Fox TV, however, says they fight "Terra Nova's" extinction event by shopping the series to other networks.
The decision was handed down despite a few factors that were in the show's favor: A creatively strong two-hour finale, which won over many of the show's grumbling detractors; Fox cancelling Monday night veteran "House"; and another Monday sci-fi drama, "Alcatraz," under-performing in recent weeks. From what we hear, Fox higher-ups weren't too fond of the show.
