I'm pretty sure it was only communication problems. Jim was shown talking to Elisabeth (who explained everything she knew to him) and he was also able to talk to the security chick when she was trying to get Taylor. And they knew it was pathogens from what the scientist at the post recorded. Even if they didn't have the whole story, they really should have had enough to take proper precautions. And come to think of it, why would they even bring mask just to take them off as soon as they seen a friendly face?

It just seems like all the drama could have been avoided (not that it would make good television though).

Yep. It can be watched on the Fox website though.

Loved the episode so far. 40 mins to go until Episode 7 is done

Edit: Pretty epic episode.

Actually epic or just epic compared to the mediocre prior episodes? Heh.

Epic to the mediocre prior ones which I didn't find mediocre, just good.

To be honest, none of the episodes have been epic. The pilot has been the best one so far.

Yknow what this show reminds me of? No Oridinary Family. An ABC show on ABC Family that went for 23 episodes and just got shit canned. It had ratings around 4.0-6.0. Terra Nova is pulling 6.0-8.0 in the ratings (but it's not ABC).

I'm getting a little more into this now; I was waiting to see some more stuff between Taylor and his son.

This and that other Spielberg show Falling Skies both looked like crap to me.

The mediocrity of this show will be its ultimate death. If it were less expensive and ambitious it could maybe get by on just being okay, but a series like this needs uber support in ordert to stay afloat on network tv, especially Fox. As sad as it may be, I doubt we'll get a season 2.

SPOILERS ABOUT "NIGHTFALL" FOLLOW!

Is it just me, or was that Spinosaurus more impressive than the one in JP? I liked how it wasn't this friggin' indestructible monstrosity and it actually seemed (a bit) more accurate. I thought it was pretty cool how it was herded by the Sixers and used as a weapstraction. Easily dealt with thanks to the fact that Taylor is a badass. He continues to be the ONLY character I like on this show.

Spoiler tags are stupid in any thread.

I'll spoil something for your ON THE NEXT EPISODE!!!!

The youngest daughter does something cliche & cute.
The dad gets his ass kicked by someone/thing.
Taylor acts like a bad ass and says "Wash!" alot.
A lone dinosaur appears and eats the entire episode's budget.
The son acts angsty.

The fact that this show is getting decent reviews and a lot of fans is more then enough for a second season.

I wouldnt call a 3 point drop over 7 weeks 'decent'. Started at 9 and dipped to 6.8 and back to 7 mostly because a dinosaur was in it.

The higher the ratings, the more commercial time sells for, which means the future of a TV show. If the show isnt pulling the ratings wanted to sell commercial time in a timeslot, it gets moved or canceled.

I think it this drops below 5, it'll get shifted to another night and if below 4 it'll get shitcanned.

Pretty much. I haven't come across any fan of this show either, but that's just my anecdotal evidence.

I think it's a safe show for families to watch. Id put my 4 to 13 year old in front of it.

The badass Empirosaur was only a diversion? And is held off so easily? Really? Why bring in such a big bad of a dino only to shrug it off as a tool of the sixers? Fox, when you find a way to bring dinosaurs into your typical drama show, DO SOMETHING NOTABLE WITH THEM.
