Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Postby mecha-gino » Fri Jul 30, 2010 6:09 pm

Me and my friend chris have recently saw this(yes, in theatres) and I gotta say I rather like this film a lot. At first it was kind of slow but it later on picked up and I like the concept of the dagger and the sands of time. Disney was setting it up to be a franchise but I don't really see the need for a sequal it ends with nothing indicating a sequal unlike POTC.

I didn't really get to see the first five minutes because the projector was kind of messed up and there was no audio. But it was a fun film and a great video game movie adaptation. And the princess oh was she hot. :P

Question: Did this movie flop? I thought it would be either really good or really bad, but I don't think it's either.

Well it's still in theatres so it's still making some form of money, as oh now it made 330 million which seems good but the budget is 200 mil. I blame the economy as most films you would expect to do well aren't doing as well and ironman 2 is a prime example.

The movie made $327,041,796 world wide, and it's #8 on the top 10 movies of 2010 world wide. So it did not flop, and we might get a sequel in a couple years from now.

I like the movie even though it had very little do with the games. It was a fun flick, and I give it a 7.5/10.

I hope this film along with the Karate Kid and Inception get a sequel . For those who hate Airbender , it is very unlikely it will get a sequel as the box office figures suck.

I actually kinda liked the movie. It had some problems (the lack of being able to use the sands more frequently, casting white guys as Persians, etc.) However, it an entertaining flick and still manages to stick fairly close to the source material.

If they do make a sequel then they might have do a original story since it will be hard to make the second game into a PG-13 movie.

I've never played the games but I actually sort of liked this movie. It was silly but it was fun.

and Jake Gyllenhaal is really hot. which really didn't hurt. I think for that reason I ended up liking this more than my boyfriend did.

it should be noted that I am not the type to obsess over celebrities or even think they're hot, lol. I just love Jake Gyllenhaal for some reason and in this movie he was hot! :p

and it's a decent movie. it's action-y enough. which is all anyone was expecting most likely (I actually only ended up seeing this because my boyfriend wanted to go, so I was expecting to like it less than I did, actually).

Ah, I'm just having a little fun, nothing big. Anyway, is this movie worth seeing?

I know :p and "worth seeing", I don't know... it's kind of one of those movies that wasn't bad, but it's not that great where I would recommend it. It's sort of just... there. but it's a good time-waster.

Well, probably I'm gonna waste time with it in front of my LED with a bowl of popcorn in my hand. I'll just end up waiting for Red Box.

It was at best a fun summer movie that was destroyed by dozens of really poor directorial decisions. The constant slow motion in action scenes, the really poorly designed humor, and dozens of poorly handled plot points made this movie subpar.

Even still, its still the best video game movie ever made.

Actually debating buying this on BluRay when it comes out. The toys were horrible. I never played the game. But video game movies are a nasty habit of mine.
