OK, I don't mind a mindless monster movie, but this just looks dumb.

Anyone here NOT notice Zilla's roar? Not being mean but I find it dumb that they would use Zilla's roar.

It can't be worse than Megapiranha.

By the way, did anyone know that Sharktopus is actually the remake of an Italian (with french co-production) horror movie ("Shark: rosso nell'oceano", 1984)?
I know it's on wikipedia, I wrote the "original story" part on the Sharktopus page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharktopus. I loved that movie as a teenager. Late night gorefest.
The original monster looks more or less like a dinichthys with tentacles, and the guy who created it brags it has "the intelligence of a dolphin, the ferocity of a white shark, the strength of a giant octopus and the fearsomeness of a prehistoric creature". Plot written in white to avoid spoilers if you really mean to look for this masterpiece.
Created as a biological weapon, the damn thing breaks free, eats a lot of people and the observation of its cells show that it's able to replicate itself asexually, meaning it would colonize the oceans and eat up everything in a few years. It's killed with FLAMETHROWERS.

Watched this yesterday and let me tell you it was good old stupid fun. This film just kept on making me laugh especially this line
Don't kill them, shoot them in the ass!"
. I loved the ending i'm not gonna spoil it for anyone who did'nt watch it.The only thing I did'nt like was the main female character why could'nt they kill her earlier and keep the blonde .Anyway on the fun-ometer it gets 8.5 out of 10.

I've seen that, as Devil Fish on MST3K. Not too many similarities with Sharktopus but I can see them being related.

I liked how it could turn its victims into clouds of blood vapor.

Probably the best SyFy film since Sharktopus. Some shots of the Piranhaconda actually looked really good though most looked like shit. I hated the blood vapor thing though. Overall I thought it was decent.

I always feel sympathy for movie monsters. They're all wracked with intestinals parasites, and it hurts. That's the only explanation I can find for their psychotical aggressiveness and insatiable hunger. I mean, cold blooded animals (like most monsters chompers in horror movies) shouldn't be gobbling up their bodyweight in victims within hours, after a meal they'd normally sleep for days. On the plus side, it's amazing for creatures weighting several tons to move silently like small cats and never leave a trace. I TOTALLY LOVE THESE MOVIES!
