You have no idea what the skreeonk you are talking about.
Maybe you should watch the trailer before making snap judgments. It scores over 20% higher than Prometheus, btw.

I don't buy their theory about the Xeno-goo. I'd like to see where their source is, or if they just made that up. Either way, what the movie shows is not consitent with their theory, as something obviously killed all the Space Jockeys (sans the hypersleep one).

And Scott can think whatever he wants (as the story's creator), but nothing in the film at all implies that Jesus was a Space Jockey, nor does it imply any specific reason the Jockey's wanted to reset life on Earth. There's the general "humans are kind of assholes" reason, but that's about it. After all, if we found out the answer, Shaw wouldn't have blasted off for their homeworld.

Also:
An interesting side-note is that Elizabeth calls the operation a 'caesarean' instead of an 'abortion.'

No, this is not interesting, nor is it a side-note. Shaw calls it a caesarean because that's what the medical prodecure is called. I bet even Commander Joe will agree with me on that one.

Just got back from seeing this movie, and I thought it was great. Definitely the best since the first two Alien films.

Oh, and Wes Anderson's films are amazing, too, but I don't know why we're bringing his stuff up in here... in an effort to denigrate Prometheus? Keep that nonsense out of this thread, please.
Now it's dark...

Saw part of Prometheus. But me and my mom had to leave cause it got too graphic for us. Can anyone tell me what happened after one of the bodies came back to life and attacked the crew?

Apparently there are plans for an extended cut on the DVD/Blu-Ray release with 20 minutes of extra footage. Hopefully it'll clear up some things?

Really? I thought you where at least over 16? I see people saying the movie had a weak R rating but I found it more darker and violent then most PG-13 films in the past several years.

I'm 15, but I'm not used to the kind of violence they showed in the film. Does the alien born from that woman look like a Xenomorph?

SPOILERS. Highlight to see. :U

No, but the alien that is born from THAT alien impregnating the Space Jockey (or engineer as they're referred to in the film) looks almost exactly like a Xeno.

Thank you for the help. Kinda disappointed that we didn't see any 'prototype' Xenos aside from the one coming out of the Space Jockey.

I found some cool art of the proto-Xeno on deviantART, if you want me to shoot you a message with the link. Not gonna post it here in case people haven't seen it yet.

Well this movie wasn't really a prequel to ALIEN..this has already been explained, in detail, by LGM in the last couple of pages. The purpose of the story wasn't to explain the origin of the xenomorphs. Frankly, we're lucky we were even treated to one at all.

Agreed, although why an advanced medical pod, supposedly programmed for Weyland and unable to provide services to a female patient has no locking mechanism or scanner indicating that the patient on the table is, in fact, female.

Point to LM.

The opening of the movie is spectacular. Could the argument be made that this is not an engineer seeding the planet but trying to destroy it; that the being is actually trying to poison the Earth and the Earth supplants the toxins within the bio-weapon and utilizes the weapon as a growth medium, so to speak, for itself? This could be viewed, by some, as an ecological message - that the planet should be seen as our God and the seat of our beliefs rather than some deity... This would make sense when one takes into account that most if not all religions stem from the core belief that the universe itself is responsible for life giving properties; the Egyptians worshiped the sun, that belief was later supplanted to a belief in a Son of God etc.

Spoiler Alert

The Jesus idea is funny, although I did comment to a fellow viewer during the showing of the movie that I went to that the minute Charlize Theron's character says "Jesus Christ" during the ascent of the alien ship I couldn't help notice that it bore a slight resemblance to some Christian iconography- the ship can be viewed as a crown of thorns that Christ wore(although there is no connection of the thorns) or as a laurel wreath typically worn by a Roman. :|

Just saw it today and thought it was really good.
*Spoilers*
What exactly were the weapons that the engineers made? My dad and I have a theory.... this might be awhile...
If the engineers made humans, then they had to make us as monkeys first. So if they were making Xenomorphs, they needed to start at the bottom of their evolutionary chain. So, if I watched the movie right-
1. The Liquid/Worms makes the Zombie people
2. The Zombie people impregnate the women
3. The Women give birth to the Squid thingy
4. The squid thing face-hugs whatever to make...
5. Xenomorph

Of course I could be dead wrong, but it's something to think about.

Oh, and how can the Weyland blood line if he and his daughter died? :eh:
