Unfortunately I dont think we are going to get all 20 episodesin the next 20 weeks, but at least we will get a few, probably until the end of May is my guess and then on break until September. Of course If I am wrong I would be thrilled

So I just caught up..

WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Not a single episode of this series lets you down. I cant believe how entangled EVERYTHING is in this series. I mean DAYUM!

Superboy and Robin vs Superman and Batman was neat. I could've gone for ALOT more of that.

Animated Cassie Sandsmark. Even if she doesn't seem to have the electric lasso, I can now die happy.

Also, does anyone know if this time skip thing going to be permanant? Or will it be reversed after this episode? Kinda hoping for the latter, but I guess either way works.

Gotta say, I wasn't really a fan of the season 2 premier. The 5-year timeskip was really jarring and seemed like it served no real purpose other than as an excuse to intruduce a bunch of new YJ members, none of which I really give a damn about. Miss Martian suddenly being with fishface (whatever the hell his name is) seems really stupid too. In fact, it's like they ignored the "developments" (read as: pairings) between the characters at the end of the season finale. And what the hell happened to Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Artemis anyway? Suddenly dropping the whole Red Arrow/Speedy storyline seems kinda odd too, but I'm sure they'll come back to that eventually. No way in hell could they leave that hanging.

Granted, based on the first season I'm sure all of the above gripes will get tied up as the season progresses, but still.

Also, Beast Boy? Really? Don't get me wrong, I liked him in Teen Titans, but it seems pretty silly to bring him into this show too. Who's next? Starfire?

^ So this is permanent, then. Huh. Yeah, 'jarring' is a good word for it. Well, things will probably be straightened out in the next few episodes.

And I'm actually glad to see Beast Boy again. I was never completely happy with his portrayal in Teen Titans; I think they went a little too far with the comic relief stuff. It was always hard to take him seriously. Hopefully that'll be fixed here.

I agree that Starfire shouldn't show up, though. They're juggling more than enough characters as it is, and she's one that would demand a lot of focus, especially after she didn't get a story arc in Teen Titans.

StarFire got a few story arcs from what I remember. Like the chrysalis thing and when she had to go back home.
Apparently SWTOR said that I can invite 25 people for a 7 day trial of the game. PM me if interested.

^ Yes, she had a few individual focus episodes, but never a long, multi-part story to herself. For example, the first season's overall story arc was about Robin and his obsession with stopping Slade. Season Two had the Terra arc. S3 had Cyborg vs. Brother Blood. S4 had Raven vs. Trigon. S5 had Beast Boy vs. the Brotherhood of Evil. But there was never a Starfire arc.

And on top of that, she's generally handled badly in the comics, too. I stopped reading them two years ago, but as of then the standard practice (in my experience) was to have her join a team (the Titans, the Justice League, etc.) for the first few issues of a new series, serve as eye-candy on the covers while adding little or nothing to the story, then quit. Over and over again. Which is just sad.

Which is why she needs to be done justice (no pun intended) and given a major role if she ever shows up in another cartoon. The already over-complcated YJ would probably not be able to do that.

I just watched the season premiere and was confused like I hadn't watched an episode before in my life. Hope the show picks back up soon.

Also, why did they dog out Superboy like that? And where is Aqualad, Kid Flash and Artemis. On the plus side I loved Nightwing.

Why can't Beastboy turn into a human when he wants too? Also- ditch the monkey tail. All in all, I liked the premiere episode. Lobo was unstoppable. Pretty appropriate.

I actually liked the premier. Sure it was totaly unexpected, but I have faith in the writers of this series to deliver. I'm sure they are forward thinking enough that we will have all our questions answered as to what happened in the 5 year gap between season 1 and 2. Most new YJ charactrs had been eluded to at some point in S1 except Blue Beetle & Wondergirl (unless they were at one of the schools and I just didn't recognize them). Also it appears CN has updated their schedule and there will continue to be new YJ episodes through June. Also I thought Lobo was pretty well done also even if he wasn't voiced by Brad Garrett ;) .

It's obvious the writer's are taking their ques from the post-IC Teen Titans. The unknown characters just appearing happened in Year Later stories of TT. Im not too keen on YJ basically being just another "strike team" like the JL. Seems kinda like they jumped the shark there...

Couldve had YJ, TT, The Titans... so much potential. I am wondering what happened to Wally West/Kid Flash? Is Barry dead, did he retire? Barry and Wally were both active as The Flash from Barry's return until The New 52.

The Miss Martian/Superboy tension is sooooo obvious with Lagan (sp?). That'll be an episode or two shortly Im sure..

Well that was a hell of an interesting twist with Beast Boy. I now approve of his inclusion to the series.

Also nice to see the Superboy/Miss Martian thing starting to get explained.

So at this point, my faith in the series has pretty much been restored.

Good overall episode. Its funny becasue I had faith that everything that was unexplained in the 5 year gap would be revealed in time (apparanetly sooner than later), but I still dont know where the series is going overall. I guess I should just enjoy the ride. I'm not convinced "The Light" are truly done and out of the picture, and I think "Invasion" may have to do with multiple alien races, not just one (or which one may not be revealed until at least 1/2 way through the season). Also I think Apocalypse is going to be a big player down the line. The Light had some of their tech. You know, when it comes to ultimate threats in the DC universe, you can never go wrong pulling the Darkseid card 8-) .

Pretty much the exact same with me. Miss Martian did the force choke on that one alien thought. And I am still slightly confused with Beast Boy's normal for?

Which twist of BB are you refering to? His shape shifting ability and green skin coming from Miss Martian? There was an episode about Gar and his mom and the YJ team...

I agree about the Superboy/Miss Martian story explanation. It's obvious Lagann is a rebound. I think theyre trying to drag it out. Dont want to get the main character of YJ with a girl TOO SOON. Like Leonard and Penny, Ross and Rachel and Crichton and Aeryn.

You lost faith? Im sorry? This is possibly the best DC animated feature since BTAS.

Yes. I didn't know BB was Gar.

I didn't say I LOST faith. It's just that I wasn't thrilled with the first episode of the season. Too much happened in the timeskip, and none of it was addressed at all. I even said at the end of my post that, judging by how the first season came together at the end, that most of my issues would be addressed as this season progressed. And that's looking to be the case.

The first season ended like the series couldve ended right there and been good. But Season 2 is making you want to learn more, and keep watching. It's what happened with Teen Titans. It became villain on the week blah after season 2. And Batman Beyond as well.

One word for this past Saturdays episode- Awesome! Great to see the JL members and their YJ protege's working together. Aqualad/Black Manta's son reveal was surprising-but well played.

As for "The competition" for the Kroletean invasion, my guess is "The Reach" (The race that created the Scarabs for Blue Beetle) based on clues in the episode, but I think overall there are several alien species that will play a part in this "Inavasion" of Earth.

I knew Aqualad was Black Manta's son... he's based off the New Earth Aqualad introduced in Brightest Day.

Well new episodes are Back (finally!) and this weekends was pretty good.

Season 2 Episode 11 "Cornered" (taken from wikipedia)

April 1: Despero sets his sights on Earth's champions, attacking the Hall of Justice while the members of the Team who used to live at the Cave are at the Hall to remove their belongings. Mal becomes the new Guardian to help in the battle. Elsewhere, Captain Atom attends a private meeting with the Reach ambassador and Black Canary interviews the Team members and teenagers abducted by the Reach with some of the teenagers consisting of Tye Longshadow and Virgil Hawkins.
April 2: The Reach ambassador uses his technology to remove the dome Despero had created around the Hall, but exposes the existence of the Watchtower to the public which G. Gordon Godfrey uses as ammunition against the Justice League on his show. M'gann decides to take up residence at J'onn's apartment, where Conner confronts her about her strange behaviour during the battle. Meanwhile, Black Canary shares her deductions about the Reach with her teammates. Against the wishes of Impulse and the Scarab, Jaime informs the League about his role in the Reach Apocalypse of Bart's time and asks that they find a way to get the Scarab off him.

I'll have to do some research on Despero. I know he's up there on the list of "big bads" from DC, but every time he appears in Animaiton, he is drastcially different. I'd like to know which of his interpretations (Justice League, Batman B&B, or YJ) was most accurate I thought he was a Gren Lantern villain, but I could be wrong. Also it was interesting to see Static Shock get a cameo (even voiced by Phil Lamarr who did the original). Every time I think a certain character wont appear because of "limitaitons" I am always surprised. At this point, I dont think there is anyone in DC that couldn't appear on this show.
