Oh, the agonizing, childish comments on that article...
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

Great! so far, this trilogy has only really begun to deal with Rey, and I'd love to see how she develops beyond three (very narratively busy) movies.

Sweet. I always felt like Rey's been shafted so far in regards to development in the ST. Hopefully a film all to herself will expand upon her more. I'm curious as to whether or not they'd focus on her life post-ROS or during the time she spent on Jakku.

She really has been utilized as a cardboard cutout with very little character development or any kind of personality beyond stoic cockiness.
It's crazy we're in the final act of the trilogy and we still have no clue who Rey is, yet every film has been focused on her.

I'm more excited for the Rey solo film then episode IX personally. I hope with JJ back we get TFA Rey back.

It says post ROS in the article which is what it should be.

Stoic cockiness is not how I read Rey at all. She's an extremely insecure character. If anything, I'd say her defining trait has been an initial inability to move forward with her life due to a fixation on her parents' identities, which she has begun to overcome.
It's crazy we're in the final act of the trilogy and we still have no clue who Rey is, yet every film has been focused on her.
TFA split its focus pretty cleanly between Rey and Finn (with Finn doing a lot more than Rey to propel the narrative, making him closer to its functioning protagonist), while TLJ is much more of an ensemble movie, with three ongoing storylines in which Rey's thread is also very much Luke's and Kylo Ren's.

No he wasn't. I understand his frustrations with idoits that attack others for their opinions but he wasn't completely right.

I fail to see how he could be wrong on anything except maybe the existence of grey Jedi.

George Lucas being content with the state of Star Wars and what balance of the force is for one. Unless George changed how he views Balance one day and didn't tell anyway George stressed several times the dark side is automatically unbalance.

I'd have to rewatch the rant and be at home to bring up the few points that don't make sense.

It's basically common knowledge that George constantly changes his mind, there's a whole friggin' cut of Star Wars that exists (MANY cuts actually) because of it.

Everything Freddie says comes from Dave Filoni who I trust twicefold over Lucas when it comes to writing Star Wars.

"I trust another person for information about the series than the original creator of the series because I like him more"
That isn't how it works.
This is the same forum that tries to decide what is canon in a series over the creators anyways so I shouldn't be surprised.

George knew what was up.

The new guys, less so tenfold.

Minus Filoni.

More like "I trust someone who was supervised by and worked with the original creator and stayed on the franchise while the original creator left".

Anyway, I don't know why I made the initial post sound like I think George is incorrect or anything considering the whole argument Freddie's making is that the people making Star Wars know what they're doing, which I agree with.

I love Filoni as much as the next guy but he did introduce Time Travel and a couple wacky things to the franchise. As far as knowing about the nature of the Force unless something was changed and not released to fans I don't see have FPJ can say he knows Star Wars more than anyone else because Filoni told him.

Filoni has also told all of us how the Force Works as well through his shows and all of the media put forth. George himself stated how the Force Works and the first six movies show this.

I understand why he is frustrated but the constant back and forth in the Star Wars fandom makes both sides look bad.

Well according to Freddie who knows more than you or I according to himself this isn't true.
