I definitely disagree with this. His face was plastered all over Phantom Menace's posters. Yeah, I agree with you there. I think the lightsaber addition was stupid and kind of slightly ruins the moment. You didn't need to have Thanos wield the Infinity Gauntlet at the end of the first Avengers to remind people who he was. Perfectly summed up. You guys really have to understand the GA doesn't care about the lore or expanded universe of nearly every major franchise. It makes sense to me. I was aware that Maul had been ret-conned into surviving, but I'd guess that majority of viewers probably didn't even possess that second-hand knowledge.
