Sharks have gills. They're fish with cartilage. Just a thought.

And speaking of sharks, I'm currently watching The Reef(2010). I haven't got to the shark part yet, but it should be interesting.

^If you like that, check out Black Water as well. It's very similar (real animal footage, based on a true story), just with a saltwater croc instead of a white shark.

Grizzly Park- Holy shit. HOLY SHIT. I'm mad at this movie. Mad at it for tricking me not one, but TWICE. Great gore scenes, nice and hateable characters, and one hell of a twist. Overall, a very nice little horror flick.

Last night, I saw Night of the Blood Beast. I'd heard about this film, but liked it. It started out great, but got more B-movie as the film went. Still, it wasn't half bad.

Spider-Man (2000)- Wow I forgot how much I love this film. The acting is incredible and still probably the best I've seen in a comic book movie (this and Tom Jane). The story and character development is great as is the messages. It isn't PACKED with action but it has some and that some is good. I have a feeling the new Spidey movie won't even come close to this one. The new one coming out seems more focused on action, excitement and pure thrills instead of the heart, story and character development of the original. I love the original 2000 version I just watched though! Beats out all of the latest Marvel stuff for me (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and even the Avengers). The new Marvel stuff lately just seems to lack that heart and emotion from films like Spider-Man (2000) and The Punisher (2004). I'll still see it though but doubt it will measure up to the McGuire series especially the first one.

Spider-Man was released in '02. The new movie comes out ten years later ('12) which is kind of funny.

Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972) -
I like it. It's my 3rd favorite of the series (POTA, Escape, Conquest, Battle, Beneath). Caesar is like his father in so many ways but different in others. I wish more had been done with the Orangs in this movie though.
Personally: 4/5
Critically: 4/5

Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973) -
Movie seems to be trying hard to centralize itself around a plot. Humans? Ape City and Humans? Gorilla coup? It lacks alot in the drama and depth of the first 4 films but it has some interesting areas, like the Lawgiver and what I think is a new future from the one seen at the end of Beneat.
Personally: 3.5/5
Critically: 3/5

Superman vs The Elite (2012) -
Well DC, you flunked. The animation is a slightly evolved S:TAS with late 90s early 2000s characters. The voice work was great but you forced in the 'hardcore' cursing (Damn!) DC was knock for in the 80s and 90s are cutting edge over Marvel. But the animation just killed it. And the plot is barely above a 2 parter for S:TAS. I was hoping it would be a tie into Young Justice ....sad. GL:TAS and now this. DC is having a shit year in animation
Personally: 2/5
Critically: 2/5

Spiderman 3 (2007)-

While not as good as Spidey 1 & 2 and it does have too many characters & subplots and some of the acting isn't great but it still can be enjoyable to watch on a lazy weekend

Score: 7.75/10

While it wasn't great. I liked it better than Allstar Superman. Also while DC did provide the lackluster titles you mentioned above, we still have Young Justice, and JL: Doom was pretty good as well.

WHAT?! All-Star Superman is epic GOLD! It is the best Superman animated feature since Doomsday!

Sorry All-Star just seemd like a jumbled mess of different stories in 12 minuete intervals that never really went anywhere. You could have had the Opening and ending sequence (with the sun controlling computer thingy) all in one episode of S:TAS, and the randomness of the middle cut out. Also I know that animated movies cant be 100 % faithful to the source but Doomsday deviated too far. It seems in general Superman solo animated films haven't done well, which is sad considering he is one of my favorite comic book characters. I'm still dreaming of the 2+ hour animated epic which would be a fully fleshed out version of the Death/Return of Superman story arc, with Full Justice League & Reign of Supermen treatment. I will agree however that that character designs of Doomsday were MUCH MUCH better than the cartoony look of "Elite".

The Valley of Gwangi (1969)

This is a very fun movie. The plot is fairly simple, but it doesn't seem cliche; it certainly keeps you engaged. The characters are pretty well done, and they grow on you. The music is great, and of course Harryhausen's effects are a sight to behold. The film has its fair share of flaws here and there, but it has a definite re-watch value regardless.

7/10.

Have you read All-Star Superman? They cut ALOT out, like Bizarro Superman and the 2 Kryptonians that came to Earth when Superman was away from Earth.

Transmorphers (2007)

This is the Asylum's take on the first Bayformers movie. A few centuries after an invasion of alien robots all but wipes out humankind in 2014, the underground remains of human civilization are now threatened by robot forces closing in on their capital city. Their initial effort to secure an operational robot (part of a larger scheme that will allow them to shut down the entire robot army) fails, so they thaw out two radicals they'd previously cryogenically frozen as traitors, thinking them perfectly suited for the job. A small strike force is assembled and they head to the surface for the final confrontation with the mechanical invaders. This movie is pure schlock sci-fi, good for fans of such films and pretty much no one else. The acting is inconsistent, the CGI robots are passable at best (just don't watch the prequel if you thought these were bad), the semi-electronic music is decent, and the plot is cliched but executed better than some other films. Everyone is dressed in black leather and too much makeup, the kind of trashy future fashion you would expect from a film like this. The whole thing is very ersatz-Matrix, especially with how much the interiors look like Morpheus' ship. There's also a pretty cute married lesbian couple, if that's your thing (if only because the general was initially written as a guy and cast as a female at the last minute). It's decent, cheap, no-brains entertainment.

Aliens (1986) Special Edition -
I saw this on TV in 89 and I always wondered why the auto guns were cut. I dug it, alot. I especially liked the scene at the end where Hicks and Ripley stopped to tell each other their names. I can see why it was all edited though. The scenes did cut the tension alittle in a very tense situation.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

It's a good movie. Always good to see all of the cartoon characters everyone grew up with all together in a movie. My favorite part is when Judge Doom revealed himself as a toon, it scared my little sister and I laughed. If you haven't watched it, give it a watch, it's for kids and adults, it's a good flick.

I give it a 4.3/5.

I love the Maguire/Raimi series. Still don't think the Garfield movie will top any of it.
