The Crow films

Ahh yes, probably the most famous of the Indy heroes films the crow was an awesome movie that had a dark feel noone saw in any superhero/comic books films of the time.

The film spawned forth 3 sequals and... Well the nostalgia critic messed up with this one, only the original was sucessful, the first sequal bombed after it's second week and we got two straight to video films. Alot of people seem to hate them but I say to hell with them, I love two almost as much as the first if not more and the other two aren't that bad but I feel the third is the worst in the series.

There was also a tv series spawn using the original crow from the first movie and I heard it was pretty good... But they cancelled it for no apperent reason. :D

with the reboot I hope it leads to director's cuts being released because I'm quite interested in seeing what differences in the plot they made.

The TV series was HORRIBLE! WTH is wrong with you?!

And honestly, The Crow isnt the most famous Indy character. I hate to say that Spawn takes that title.

Spawn is an indy character?

Anyhow, I've only seen the original and Salvation. The original wasn't as great as people made it out to be, but it was 1000x what I was expecting and was still a great movie. Salvation was good fun, too, and the best of the sequels from what I hear.

The first movie was great, I wish a director's cut was release. I never finish watching the second movie, and I naver care for the rest of the sequels. I wonder how Rob Zombie's Crow movie would have been like?

I love the original. It's a great movie. Haven't seen any of the sequels or the TV show, but I don't think I want to. I hear the director of Blade's doing a remake, which kinda blows. There was only 1 book so there should only be 1 movie.

Yes, Spawn is. Image Comics started as a collection of art and stories from artists moving against Marvel and DC.

Opinion denied until I watch the series. :P

But I just thought about it and we're both wrong, neither spawn nor the crow is the most famous Indy character. Hellboy is the most famous Indy comics character out there. :P

Deny it all you want, you know it to be true. Currently, more people know more about Hellboy then spawn. Why? Well he has two theatrical films and the first one introduced the world to him thus making him very popular. :P If you want to make a character really popular, make an interesting movie about him or they look at transformers for instants. ;)

Transformers were not independant. Marvel comics then IDW FTW bitches! But Marvel still owns the rights to their universe of TF.

Hellboy, while popular RIGHT NOW, is not THE most popular independant comic character. Stop doubting my comic book knowledge, fool. I was reading comic books back when you daddy was shootin' your potentional brothers and sisters into the bathroom sink.

Hellboy, unlike Spawn, does not get 2-3x series of figures produced from his books a year, nor does he have an entire company built from his image (like McFarlane), nor does he have a multi-season TV series, blah blah

To be honest, DHP can be argued as NOT being independant, since a majority of their books are licensed product - like Buffy, Angel, Star Wars and movie adapation books. Hellboy has what? 1-2 bi-monthly or quarterly books? And Im sorry none ever rank in the top 25 books as best sellers.

I loved the first movie, Salvation was just as good, and I've been trying to find the other two sequels but they never aired on TV. :(

May I ask than why Marvel desided to make General Ross the Red Hulk and not, oh say, someone more LOGICAL?

Ross is plenty logical. I'm ashamed at a Hulk fan not seeing that.

How? Wasn't Rulk actually smack talking Ross at one point? Why did his facial hair retact when he transformed? Why would Ross join A.I.M.? Then again I've been behind on a few issues.

@ Watara: sorry, but... Doubted and denied ever mistah butthurt since that time in Mexico. :( *sniffle sniffle* Sides, hellboy is more awesome then spawn. :P And what I was referring to with transformers is that before they weren't as popular as they were in the past but now EVERYONE knows who they are now.

@ Alienhulk: yeah... I would say thanks for spoiling that ya douche, but I already knew that.

@ Everyone else: discuss Hulk and everything in the marvel topic.

Sorry mecha-gino, I guess I should used spoilers. I didn't really think of it since what I said happened like earlier this year and being the comic fan you were, well, yeah. :(

Spawn is a shadow of what he used to be. The main series is lucky to make it above the top 100 comics, and most sales come from the trade paperbacks/hardcovers, plus the McFarlane toys/figures. At least the Hellboy franchise has some of the best performing trade paperbacks in the business, which says a lot. Spawn's heyday was back in the 90's. Invincible rules Image now; he may not sell that much, but at least that book is consistently in the top 200 comics, more than can be said of Spawn lately.

I wish they keep the series alone since their was no point for sequels or a remake of this series.

I thought Haunt was Image's main comic now? Well Spawn was pretty huge back in the 90's, and early 2000's. I feel like Spawn went down hill after David Hine's comic run. Endgame is pretty dull seeing how awful the secondary cast has been. I think we are going a bit off topic now :freak:.

Please... Let's focus on the crow. If you want to talk about image and how it's invincible beig the big wig not haunt, then go into the image comics topic
