Battleship (2012)

Postby Tyler » Thu Nov 25, 2010 6:35 pm

From the director of Hancock comes an action movie... based on a board game. Now I only make this thread because I found out today at Thanksgiving that my cousin's husband's gonna be in it. He's in the military and the filmmakers involved are looking for 'authenticity.' I don't know how many lines he has or anything, but he's got a script. He says they're aliens in it...

Liam Neeson and Rihanna are gonna be in it, too. So this just makes me go: :eh:

This incredibly bizarre and totally rediculous film probably is going to be a complete waste of time.

Much like GI-Joe, my interest in the franchise and exceptions are so low, I can't not enjoy watching it. And for that reason, I'm mildly excited for Battleship.

*Reads what Tyler wrote. Looks at the movie title. Re-reads what Tyler wrote. Remembers the board game. Re-re-reads what Tyler wrote.*

A) Facepalm
B) Wallbang
C) Headdesk
*D) All of the above

Seriously, what!? Is a good old fashioned WW-whatever movie too much to ask for? Do we have to stick aliens in every piece of skreeonk media released to the masses? Aliens?! WHAT?!!? Is ADD really this much of a goddamn problem!?

And they've confirmed that they're going to use the phrase "You sunk my battleship!" in the script.

Only an actor of Liam Neeson's caliber can deliver that line without making babies cry from the cringe-inducing silliness of it.

You know what..I'll see it. Novel premise, and might be fun. Who knows?

I should also point out that one of my mom's friends and her husband were extras in Kraken: Tentacles of the Deep.

I'll see it if the alien weapons control has a 10X10 grid showing rows 1-10 and columns A-J, and the alien weapons are gigantic red pegs.

There really going threw with this?? Well despite the fact that i think it's ridiculous there making a movie out of this, i'll reserve judgement for now an await a trailer an early reviews but like other posters have said i don't expect much.
