lol. Wow.

I bought Venom but haven't seen it yet. Always loved the character. I'm more into judging a film by it's own merits than having some grudge against the studio. I think I will watch it tonight

I'm a big Venom fan too. As long as you're not worried about not seeing Spider-Boy, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

By popular demand that I post this here. It's been confirmed that pioneering motion capture actor, Andy Serkis, will be directing the second installment of VENOM.

Wicked, now we know the CGI will be superb, and we'll likely see new dynamic shots never seen before on the big screen since Serkis is behind the wheel.

Hopefully he plays, or gets someone he trusts, to motion capture Carnage.

The effects are the least of the worries I am hoping for a good script and a great portrayal of Carnage... If they screw up Carnage the entire film dies with it...

Eh, after the first film I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully it'll be another fun movie.

I personally loved Venom and really don't wanna see Spider-Boy (Tom Holland) fight him because seeing Holland beat Tom Hardy in a fight would look silly and not believable to me, it's like having Finn Balor beat Brock Lesnar or Minya beat King Kong.

Carnage in a PG-13 just feels wrong tbh. One of the reasons Venom should had been R to begin with if they were gonna introduce him.

Look forward to the inevitable PG-13 solo Carnage movie. Joy...

No one said they're making a solo Carnage film and no one said this is gonna be Pg-13.

Also, Carnage is a terrible character anyhow, the amount of blood they put on screen to make him look more threatening isn't gonna change that

I take it you missed the Collider interview with Avi Arad after Venom came out that was basically just him defecating from his mouth, saying all this stuff about how Carnage isn't an R-rated character and said all this stuff that actually had skreeonk all to do with the character like how he's troubled and sympathetic.

Eh, Venom was just okay IMO and after seeing them royally skreeonk up Spider-Man and Ghost Rider since 2007, I'm having my doubts.

I did, yeah. That's a bit more definite. Still, I keep my same point: Carnage is an edgy excuse for Venom to be an out and out hero so I dont have any real concern with whatever stupid poop Sony does because it's not like there's a lot to skreeonk up.

Well, what do you expect from a guy who's skreeonked up Spider-Man and Ghost Rider since 2007? He's also helmed the likes of Elektra, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, both Hulks, X-Men: The Last Stand, Ghost in the Shell and the first 2 Fox Fantastic Four movies.

He's had quite the track record of skreeonking up properties.

What's wrong with taking inspiration from the original comic again? Oh, that's right, everything according to Fox.

I loved Venom when it came out. I was expecting a horror movie and got a fun self aware b movie sci-fi buddy cop film with a very likable performance from Tom Hardy.

Hoping to see him crossover with Tom Holland at some point.

Venom is one of my favorite Marvel characters and I loved the movie. It has that "90'- early 00's" Horror-Science Fiction styled charm to it...and I love those types of movies (Underworld, Spawn, Blade, ect.). It doesn't feel like a MCU movie and I'm tired of every modern marvel trying to be the next "Guardians of the Island" - It worked with "Thor: Ragnarok" but it's just overkill at this point.

I give "Venom" props for not going down that "Guardians of the Galaxy" route. Instead, it gave me a fun time with a basic but enjoyable story with a Tom skreeonking Hardy and my man, Venom, himself 8-) Plus, the film had dark humor to it. I Love myself some dark humor. The dark humor works with the character and the film's tone too.

Do I know that the story is a little basic and a little cheesy? Yupp. But I don't care. It gave me a good time and I got one. Plus, I love those cheesy 90' - early 00's movies. I thought "Venom" had that type of feel to it, and I think a Venom movie should have that type of feel to it.

I just found this thread today. Just throwing in my love for the film here.

It's pretty much a given, especially since his MCU past/contract won't impede him from showing up seeing how the Sonyverse is now technically part of the MCU. I say technically because it's part of the MCU in the same way their Netflix series' were: they can't show up in, affect or mention anything from the MCU movies apart from vague references (though DareDevil/Matt Murdock may be showing up in Spider-Man 3, which I seriously hope he does, and it makes perfect sense, too given the FFH end credits scene).

As for Venom, whereas most people either loved or hated it, I stand somewhere in the middle. It was okay. Nothing terrible, but nothing special.
