Offical Dragon Ball Thread

This thread is a remake of the thread on the old fourms. Pretty much talk about anything about Dragon Ball/Z/GT here in this thread.

So you're trying to replace me! D:
DB is the best in the series. DBZ takes to long for things to actually happening and not to mention many inconsistensies. And then there GT that's blows and sucks but had some nice ideas.

What do guys think of DBKai? I seen a few episodes of DBkai on Nicktoons, and I don't really care for it. I seen the anime and read the manga so many times that I have zero interest in DBkai at all.

I'm watching it because it's been a long damn time since anything DB was on TV.

I also don't own any of the box sets.

We I'm watching Kai right now and I'm absolutely loving it. While I have no problem with season one, it's nice that I can finish season one or vol one in this case in 5 hours.

I hear they still added fillers in Kai when Kai was stated to be 100% Filler free?

Some, but I'd say a good 75% or more is gone. All I've really noticed so far is that Ginyu still takes Bulma's body.

I hear King Vegeta appears in a flash back when he was never shown in the Manga.

Actually, I think I remember that somewhat from an episode I caught the end of a few weeks back.

Here...I have an interesting topic of discussion...

Is Goku dead at the end of DragonBall GT?

THere's a line of Vegeta's dialouge that goes like this:

VEGETA: "Hold it, Kakarrot! Are you training again?... (gasp)... Kakarrot, are you...?"
GOKU: "(inaudible hush)... See you later, Vegeta."

Goku then leaves. He sees everyone he loves and such...and then leaves. He disappears for 100 years, and only reappearing for split seconds.

Yes, Goku can teleport, no problem. But him appearing and disappearing at the end...there's something supernatural about them.

So...is Goku dead or not?

If he was dead then we would have seen some type of Halo on his dead.

Not really. For one, we ARE dealing with GT.

And he was also paired up with Shenron. Vegeta's line is also very ambiguous.

I'll tell you what we should do! Pretend GT never existed in the first place! :D

DB Kai is basically DBZ without TOO many fillers. They still need to use fillers to fill up an episode though, so its pretty much more faster paced then DBZ was. That and they restored animation errors and brought some special effects back to date.

To narrow it down, only things changed are...

Fillers are 90-99% ridden of.
New OST.
Higher in quality.

Should end by the 150-175th episodes. Just at this rate. My guess.

There are 99 episodes announced for the series.

I've noticed what you mean by animation errors... Which the only ones I know of was Vegeta's and Nappa's costumes being different colors.

As in small errors to the appearances, screw ups. I remember seeing one with Goku's hair during Frieza saga, where one lock stretched to be as big as his forehead. They also fixed Vegeta's hair, he's suppose to have a brown tint to his hair which wasn't added in DBZ.

Looks like they're cram a content for 33 more episodes. Considering the recent subbed is at 66th.

I still enjoy the manga better then anime IMO. I feel like the manga has better placing, and the fights don't seem like they take forever.

I think in DBkai, they are up to the Cell games now, and will end at the Buu saga IIRC?

@ hellspawn: No... They're going to stop at the shadow dragon saga. Lol

you know come to think about in Kai, one animation error does appear. Raditz's hair appear to be blue at one point and then maybe brown or that weird black that's kind of blueish
