Seriously why not remake a crappy movie into something at least Good instead of something awesome and make it
horrible...

Why not just stop beating a dead horse and leave the Saw franchise in a grave where it belongs?

You don't understand studio politics it's very simple.

"Gee, we need to get some more money in, we need a real sure-fire hit. We don't know how all of these independent movies will do, so we need something we know will make money!"

"What about another <insert franchise> movie?"

"We could try that, but the last few sequels didn't do so well, and the actors are getting kind of old to reprise their roles."

"What if we tried remaking it?"

Yeah, just to make more money without caring about what fans think but
that's not how movie studios think.

Pretty stupid on their parts. Would make more sense if they called this a reboot or retcon.

So... would you rather have another sequel with characters who weren't even in the first couple movies then? Between a sequel, a remake, or a prequel, the prequel option is the best win-win.

Why not just leave it to rest?

Another sequel, okay fine go ahead, as long as it's good.
A remake, Hell no, you're willing to ruin a good franchise for a little extra cash in your pockets?

"Good franchise"? Have you seen Saw 3, 4, 5, 6, and 3D? This is not a good franchise.

Yeah, I have to agree.

The first two films were great, but 3 was a trainwreck, and everything afterwards is barely related.

Is that not why we're Godzilla fans? Most of them with a few exception like Gojira are below average film standards but we love them anyways cause we have fun with the fights and destruction.

As long as is a remotely fun experience, everything is good.

Probably Paranormal Activity will be Rebooted also if they go the way they are...oh God.

*raises hand* Uh, I can think of at least a dozen Godzilla films that I would consider above average, good, or downright great. A few I would even say are near perfect monster movies. And that's when applying those Godzilla films to "average film standards".
