Build me a two hour plot based on that and how it would be interesting, heart-warming, family-friendly, emotional and humorous enough for Pixar standards.

In all honesty, we really don't know the plot yet. We know they're in college and Mike and Sully aren't buddies yet. But we don't know anything else. Now, if we had a full, detailed plot outline, I'd be inclined to agree stupid move, but for all we know, we could be missing out a ton.

Plus, you know, there's a possibility of seeing Boo's parents or something in here. That could still be fun.

Personally the reason I'm biased against this movie just based off the two minute trailer is that the comedy wasn't all that smart, just childish pranks. And based off the first one I think there could've been several better story lines than 'College'. Plus the animation is a downgrade, unless that's just the trailer.

There's plenty of storylines you can squeeze out of Pixar's movies, the tough thing is finding a story worth telling from a Pixar perspective. The resolution of Monsters Inc. is pretty hunky-dory and the only two real solutions are aforementioned ones, neither of which I feel could conform to a Pixar plot.

Animation downgrade - yeah, it's just a trailer. The teaser trailers for Pixar films are by tradition not even part of the final movie ;) Take for example, Toy Story 3's teaser, just building the logo repeatedly with toys.
