They tried using a dog with an Alien costume? Is there any source that says that?

I think there's actually footage of it somewhere, perhaps even in the Assembly Cut of the film.

They did try using a dog in a suit for the initial 'bambiburster', but it looked dumb so they didn't use it. For the Assembly Cut they went back and added a little CG Alien running away.

As for CG Aliens, the first were in Resurrection. It was used in Jurassic Park-type shots where you saw their legs, and when they were swimming and other things that a guy in a suit couldn't do.

A lot of people think the Alien was partially CG in 3, but it was actually a rod puppet. I love practical effects but it looked kind of crummy.

There is footage. I saw it somewhere... I can't remember if it was Cracked.com or what, but I've seen it. I tried to find it again before I made my post, but no such luck.

It was the cutest Xenomorph ever, I'll give you that.

But my favorite Alien movie is probably Metroid Prime.

The funny part about that is, Metroid Prime is a lot more immersive than mos of the movies that I've seen since it's release.

And yeah we get that you hate Alien 3. I still don't understand how someone could like Alien 3 over AVRP? At least Alien 3 had better lighting and had character development. AVPR just give us characters that where rip off from some Disney channel show (They where all from High School) and the other characters where just rip offs from the past movies (Like Kelly and Molly for example).

Here's a question: If ALIEN 3 had sparkling vampires and ponies, would it be higher up on your list simply on the basis of that?

I've never quite got the extreme amount hate for Alien Resurrection. While yes it's not as good as Alien & Aliens & to an extent Alien 3 and yeah it does plod on but I see it as a qulity pleasure.

I would have to agree since Resurrection does have some fun moments it and I do have a Nostalgia spot for it. The first AVP movie was boring and had nothing good to ofter other then the CG Queen and the temple setting. AVPR was a total mess and I just hate that film on every level (I rant enough about it already).

I don't "hate" RESURRECTION..I've actually warmed up to it a bit over the years. It's just such a jarring combination of black comedy/sc-fi, you can't help but at least try to have fun with it. It's also really pretty to look at. It's definitely a lot better than the wretched AvP films.

Resurrection has Ron Perlman in it.

It's automatically 9000x cooler then any other Alien entry.

I was being sarcastic. As I stated before, I prefer Aliens of the franchise.

I also have personal opinions and critical opinions. Im one of the few TK members who does so. But most people refuse to acknowledge a critical opinion because it clashes with their personal opinion. I personally love The Return of Swamp Thing so it gets a 5/5. But critically it's a 1/5.
