I only have 3 times what are the others?

I know this is off topic but I only remember Godzilla dying twice. The original movie and GvD. I would count GMK but his heart was still beating underwater, so in my mind he lived.

You're both only looking at it from a hardcore fan perspective. See below.

Even before reading books or going online, I know when Godzilla did die or didn't die even when I was like 8 years old. But, I guess seeing a giant monster wrapped in a web cocoon and tumble into the ocean = death for casual viewers?

Yeah, exactly. There's absolutely no reason for someone unaware of continuity to think he survived that. Obviously as devoted fans, we all know he survives, but as far as a casual audience would see it, he's dead.

[quote]Definitive Deaths:
Disintegrated in Gojira.
Melts down in Godzilla vs. Destroyah.
Blows up in GMK.

Ambiguous Deaths:
Gets buried alive in Godzilla Raids Again.
Falls into the ocean with out resurfacing in King Kong vs. Godzilla, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Invasion of Astro-Monster, and Godzilla: Tokyo SOS.
Is left to freeze on Solgell Island in Son of Godzilla.
Falls into volcano in The Return of Godzilla.
Sucked into black hole in Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (unless you watch the credits).

I think that's everything.

I knew what you were talking about. Just thought I was mistaken in the amount of deaths Godzilla received.

I know I'm nerding out on this one, but Godzilla's beating heart remained, meaning he was still alive and could return someday.

Anyway, Pacific Rim, eh?

BTW Tokyo isn't the only iconic city in Japan. Maybe Osaka, Kyoto, or Sapporo will see some action.

We didn't bomb Kyoto because we found it to be too culturally significant.

We should destroy it.

I'm gonna have to break down and buy some of the collectibles for this film. I just know they're gonna be skreeonk great. Del Toro is just one of those directors who knows what people want because it's what he wants too.

Hmm... we all know Del Toro delivers on visuals. But this is post-conversion 3D. I don't know if it will actually add anything worthwhile to the film.

So much for radio silence...

3-D? Sounds cool. Not a lot of monster movies are in 3-D, so that's gonna be cool to see. Lots of Hollywood movies are 3-D these days, so I'm not surprised. I wonder if Godzilla will be released in 3-D...

Del Toro was against 3D because he felt it'd take away from the sense of scale the movie's built around. I guess he lost that battle. I'll be seeing it in 2D, which I do for all post coverted movies.

There's a very good chance that this movie will be more enjoyable than Godzilla. So feel free to do yourself a disservice by avoiding what will most likely be a great movie because of your fanboy mind.

What is with so many Godzilla fans on the internet having a negative attitude towards this movie?
