DC Comics is bringing back the power this July with a six issue HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE mini series. Written by James Robinson(The Golden Age, Starman, Earth-2, Shade) and art duties by Phillip Tan(Green Lantern), it will deal with Skeletor finally winning the war against his arch nemesis, He-Man, and his allies. Left no longer remembering his past glory, He-Man is left toiling with the other citizens of Eternia under Skeletor's heel until the Sorceress returns to remind him of who he once was.

My wife and I will be getting dual subs. 8-) This is a positive sign for the property. I'm hoping that the live action film will also be done well. I'm crossing my fingers that the film has some heart and soul, and isnt yet another mindless 'summer blockbuster' lump.

Cant wait for the comic.

What's wrong with the updated He-Man stuff from earlier in the last decade waturu ? You had some hellacool updates to the classic characters thanks to the art team known as the Four Horsemen(http://www.fourhorsemen.biz/). While keeping the classic characters ,and concepts quite reconizable. The Cartoon Network series did a wonderful job fleshing out the origins, and characters. The original Filmation series, while cool at first seein all the characters given voice, were rather weak sauce, and still played with the limiting rules of Standards and Practices. While most other syndicated animation seemed to realize the parentts were out of the house, and it was party time. Making for a rather Golden Age for animation, and our childhood. Gone, in the modern series, the goofball antics of the villains in the Filmation era, and there was a much more serious attitude delivered for a bit more sophisticated group of youths. One of my favorite reboots, HORDAK, who would've been the Big Bad of the show's never made fourth season. Went from a bit of a goof ball plagueing She-Ra, to Evil Personified  in the Modern Era. Take a look, which do you prefer ?

Also a group shot featuring the nicely updated looks to Skeletor, King Hiss, and Hordak.

Not the toys, The One, the animated show. It was HORRIBLE.

The toys OWN! Especially the Matty Collector stuff. The regular line had some gems, sure. But overall was meh.

Eh, to each his own. While I like the original series and toys for nostalgia (I have them all on DVD). I thought the 2002-2003 show did everything right that the 80's show couldn't because of broadcast standards of the time, plus Lou Scheimer was always a big kid himself and never wanted to be too edgy with his shows. I have always refrained form buying MOTU comics in the past but this looks very interesting. Oh and snice this is being picked up by DC, I wonder if they will do an update or sequel to the Superman vs He-Man comic. Yes I still have this one!

I never watched the old show and I don't know if I could handle the cheese factor unless I'm with some friends but I did like that recent show quite a bit actually and Skeletor was quite badass in it. I also remembering enjoying the comic crossover with Superman(I think), so I'm gamed for this.

I'd wouldn't be too opposed to seeing a He-Man/ThunderCats mash-up.

Another one, that I thought would be a natural would be Thor/He-Man.
