I own a few Marvel Selects and theyre all over better figures (except Ultimate Thor...he sucks). Theyre larger scale, better detailed then the ML, arent overly articulated causing the figure to NEVER stand up and all the weapons fit the hands. Also, the paint is SO much better. ML stuff got sloppy.

Little bit more than I'd like to pay for a Revoltech, but do I LOOOOOOVVVESS me some Monster Hunter. Plus, it's an exclusive, so I guess I'm cool with it.

~11.5" wingspan and ~8" head to tail... Gotta get a Tamashii stand to hold him, 'cause I KNOW that Revoltech stand won't hold his awesomeness.

Watchmen figures from Mattel!? There's a doctor Manhatten one, so I'm definitely buying it and there's a Rorsache one as well so make that two plus there's a John Constantine, a brief glimpse at the new 52 figures(tempted to buy Hawkman) plus Superman new 52 and Superboy Prime look cool and others as well and maybe just maybe we'll have a Collect and connect the size of Marvel Legend's giant figures.

Okay Marvel Legends, okay some noticeable stuff here and there. UGH! A baf of hit Monkey, geez I mean there's no one in that line that'll-

Marvel Legends are PISSING ME OFF.

They FINALLY come back after almost 2 year of nothing. They improve their design BUT...

Theyre near impossible to find AND theyre $15 each. I want the Thor one SO BAD but it's $35+ on eBay :/

Anyone else here do custom 1/6 scale action figures? I'm currently working on a Charlton Heston fig from The Omega Man. The head is a custom resin sculpt I purchased online, and then painted myself. The body is from Art Figures, boots are Hasbro, and the military gear is mostly from Dragon. The flightsuit was by far the most difficult part of the process, since there just aren't many options out there to match Neville's uniform in the climax. Some people use a bulky-ass jumpsuit from a Sabre pilot figure released a few years back, but it's way too heavy looking. I used a vintage outfit from a 1960s "Moon McDare" action figure, and I think it's much closer to the one in the film (not perfect, though). Anyway, take a look:

Dont you mean dolls?

EDIT:
BBTS.com has gotten the new TMNT toys. $10 each or $35 for all the Turtles or $99 for the entire series 1 (9 figures). Can only be shipped to the US

I ***~~SO!!!~~*** want this one:

Mikey is very special to me. He was my VERY first TMNT toy back in 1987. I saw them at Sears in Naples FL and my mother REFUSED to buy me one (they were like $6, which is like $15 now). My father bought be one behind her back the next day and I STILL have it to this day. It's a soft head vinyl

That is almost spot on. The zipper is really all that throws it off, and even that can be overlooked. I love that freakin' movie,

Thanks for the kind words, RZK! I should have tucked the zipper behind the little cloth tabs, but I didn't think of it until after I snapped the picture. It's less conspicuous the way it's currently positioned. That's the only problem with functional zippers in this scale, the pull is usually quite oversized.

Glad to hear you're a fan of the movie as well. It's one of my favorite films of all time. I own an original 40 x 60 inch Omega Man poster from a drive-in, and it dominates one of my living room walls.

Awesome! I saw this movie when I was very young. It's literally the first time I ever saw the main character of a film die. It rocked my world, lol. I was an instant fan of Heston.

You know, I heard that Charlton Heston had to go by Charlton Easton in Greece. Apparently "Heston" is Greek for some scatological things.

Meh you can like both. It's ok. The Omega Man is just a classic. Like DUNE. The movie is great, the book is amazing and the remake is mediocre.

^I never said you couldn't, just that I can't. I read the book before seeing any of the film versions and...well, what can I say? Few, few works in any medium can live up to that novel. Just personal taste, no big deal. Back to toys...

Dont compare the two. Judge the movie on it's own merits. Have you read the novel Planet of the Apes is based on?

^ Exactly.

At least The Omega Man pulled a title change. I was hoping that Will Smith's I Am Legend was going to be an actual adaptation of the story, so I was really pissed when it turned out to be a morally-sanitized zombie film. Neville is supposed to be a surly asshole, and the enemies absolutely must remain mentally human for the story to maintain any weight. I liked that picture for what it was, but it pales before the story, the Heston version, and Vincent Price's The Last Man on Earth (another movie I really enjoy).

Who is that...Boulle? No, been meaning to pick up a copy at some point.

Believe me, 99% of the time Wats, it's me arguing the very same thing you are. I definitely do know how to separate the two mediums from the other, but this is my 1%. I try to be a fairly level-headed nerd, but this is my beachhead.

I can see merit in Omega Man, I think the Last Man on Earth is the best possible version we'll see, and the less said about I Am Will Smith, the better. But for me, sorry. The novel is so, so perfect and the only real problem most of the films have is that they simply. Don't. Get. It.

They're fine for what they are, but the way they tend to ignore the elements that made the book a game-changer for me. Again, all my own opinion, no one else need apply.
