He was put on Suicide Watch since he attempted suicide previously. 24/7 surveillance.

Even if no one murdered him, they probably let him commit suicide. You already hear rapists and child abusers don't do well in lock up, I can't imagine a trafficker of minors would have a lot of friends in there. And you know the guards let it "slip" why he was in there.

Good. A fate those things deserve. It makes me now wish that thing didn't commit suicide.

My point was this: he may have killed himself but it needs to be investigated. If the prison or guards were at fault then it is a major failure. There was a lot at stake leaving him alone, and when it happened the predictable outcome occurred. This could and should have been prevented.

Prior to becoming well-known numerous sex offenses and all he was connected with some fairly powerful people; politicians, royalty, CEOs, etc, including former President Clinton, the UK’s Prince Andrew, and President Trump. In 2008, future US Labor Secretary Alex Acosta (then a federal prosecutor) made a secret plea deal with Epstein that allowed the latter man to avoid charges similar to the ones he was being held on today; last year Acosta resigned from his post after the plea deal became widely known.

As a result there are numerous conspiracy theories abounding on both the political left and right that such powerful people were involved in his crimes and helped him to cover them up, and as a result his death today (under admittedly somewhat suspicious circumstances) is being widely perceived as someone tying up loose ends, silencing Epstein to prevent him implicating someone important.

Regardless of what happened, it’s a pretty major failing of the prison that he wound up dead like that, as Terasawa said. There’s evidently already a federal investigation underway, so hopefully it’s found and addressed
