@Flawed- Yeesh...I'd say try places other than the internet. Now, I know you've said you have a medical condition, so I'm not really sure what exactly that limits you on. And I dunno which sites you are using, but as Kane said, Facebook can be one hell of a dating site.

I never liked Facebook because it doesn't allow me to "browse" for new people (or if it does, I haven't figured out how to use it yet). Does it have it's own "dating" service? I just always found Myspace to be much easier to use (plus I like that I can have music on my profile whereas Facebook doesn't really let me do that).

there's a difference between being full of yourself and being confident. confidence just means you're happy with yourself as you are. it doesn't mean you have to have a big ego or act like you're the greatest thing on earth - actually, those are signs of someone who isn't very confident. if you really are happy with yourself you won't feel like you have to advertise it. so yeah, that's the difference :p

^ Which reminds me, I'm close friends with a group of 5 girls. And I like to jokingly act like some sort of narcissist around them. Even that pisses them off. All of them. All the time. So yeah, if even half-heartedly acting like you're full of yourself is a turnoff to girls, God knows how they'll think of you when you truly seem like a pompous ass. Both ends of the spectrum aren't really good places to be in.

So to answer your question Drunken, no, don't do it. Hell, I know a girl who thinks shy men are "sweet". And I have yet to find a girl who liked overconfident guys. So you probably have a better chance acting like yourself, if not simultaneously trying to get some confidence.

Truth. Quick addition here, women can smell low self-esteem on a guy a mile away. And they won't like it. Not. One. Bit. So, next time you're around a quality slice of womanhood Drunkengamer, just act confident. Remember that word, act. In many ways, all of our personality traits are merely an act when you think about it. I assume you're a pretty good guy Drunken. That's what people know you as, right?

Well, think of this, what if you were walking down the street, and passed someone who had never seen you before, never knew of your existence. And say while walking past, you slammed into the guy, causing him to spill his drink, and then yelled "Watch where you're going you prick!" and continued on, never to see each other again.

What do you think that guy's opinion of you would be from then on? An asshole right? You're not an asshole, but due to that one act, that's what that guy will think. So it is with confidence. Act confident, and you are confident. Act bold and you are bold. At least to those around you.

Keep that in mind next time you're talking to a girl.

Confidence isn't ego. You have to be sure of yourself, not arrogant.

The self-esteem thing, basically, you just have to grow out of. You'll learn eventually that the bullshit from school is meaningless. Once you realize get over the things you're not great at, or your lesser qualities, and start truly respecting your own greater qualities, you'll find confidence is easier to come by.

Example. I'm not attractive hardly at all. Hairy, overweight, hair that just doesn't agree with me. But I stop paying attention to that. Instead, I find my confidence in being considered highly intelligent, well-spoken individual with impressive writing skills. Fact is, the women out there worth your time won't really care all that much about the shallow things. As long as your confident in yourself, your fine. And EVERYONE has something to be confident about.

Well, oh my....I arrive at the new TK, and THIS is what I see....



I know the whole "be yourself" thing is a horrible cliche at this point, but in the long run, it's still the best tactic if you're looking to KEEP a girl. she'd best know what she's getting into. If you're just trying to GET one, so to speak, well hell, be whoever you want to be. whatever gets your, ahem, goal achieved.

Not recommended. You sadly missed your shot in the early stages of friendship, before being best friends. If you try and ask her out now, even if it's a long,drawn-out, and valid speech, you run the risk of her thinking you were only with her to get with her OR that the whole friendship was a sham because she "didn't like you that way."

Like SS4G said, just play it cool, and don't do it.

Next time you see starting talking to a girl, decide early on if you want a relationship out of it. That's the best way to do it.

I've tried to do that. Twice. Didn't work out. Like everyone else said, it's not a good idea.

Well, I already have a few DON'Ts from experience.

DON'T tell a girl that you had a wet dream about her.
DON'T tell a girl that even though you wanna have sex with her, it doesn't mean you have a crush on her.
DON'T give a girl the nickname "Hot Stuff", unless she's known you for a loooong time.
DON'T comment on every single one of her Facebook photos with "I'd tap that".
DON'T ask a girl out on the phone unless she lives far from you. Which, in that case, asking her out at all isn't always the best choice.

Simply call/text her. That's what I do everytime a girl gives me her number. If a girl gives you her number, she's more or less expecting you to contact her. Unless she's a bitch and gives you the wrong number.

Just wanna touch on these.

The first is valid... UNLESS the girl asks you something along the lines of, "What do you think about when you..." or what you dream about. In both cases, you're probably well on the way to a relationship. Just answer both carefully and tactfully. And the question will only come up with certain women.

The second... well, again, it's a situational thing. You can ask a girl out over the phone, but if you do, do it in an aloof way. Make it not a big deal. "So, you wanna go see a movie or something this week?" And never get into a long distance relationship... They blow. Not in the good way.
