Ya know what I saw this thread, I just had to pitch in my two cents. I have had trouble getting a girlfriend in recent past. Actually, the only ones I have ever gotten are the psycho's (not the good psycho's either -- the ones that flip like a switch ones).

My longest relationship was for 5 years, she was a child hood sweety, asked her out 10 years later, had a good first 2 years, middle was on the rocks, and last year and a half was a nightmare. We never had sex. Not once. Why? Because I respected her, I loved her, and I wouldn't force her against her will. I don't believe in rape and/or hitting women to prove a point, it's not how I was raised, and I'm not like that at all. After her, I haven't had too much luck with women.

I have had:

-Liars
-Cheaters
-Drug Addicts
-Girls who want it their way or no way.
-The ones that take things WAYYY out of context.

You name it. I've had it.

Now, I'm not trying to sound arrogant or anything, but deep down I do believe I am a "woman's everything". I'm the type of guy that would go the distance for ONE special girl and love her like no other. But, when it comes to me.. all girls want nowadays are assholes. I mean really, what can be defined as "asshole" nowadays? But, personally, I think that is just an excuse.. most just want hot men. Me on the other hand, i'm no Brad Pitt or "Edward Cullen" **shivers down my spine** but I am not the ugliest. I am a pretty handsome guy, pretty average, down to earth. Yet, I'm always over looked and ignored and never given a chance to be seen and to shine.

The reason I don't think I can get a girlfriend and/or a girl to even talk to me is because.... either my looks, i'm very open and I tell it like it is, I never sugar coat anything, because I am not in middle school or high school anymore where I have to hide my emotions. I'm an adult. Girls say "oh, we want the real deal, we don't want cheaters, etc etc" yet here I am, and I am always ignored. Here are a few excuses I have heard in the past from women:

"You're cool and everything, but you love horror movies, etc.. we can be friends." -- she never talked to me again.

"We have to break up because I don't feel beautiful enough to be with you, even if you mean it" "How come you're adding celebrities on your facebook/myspace page? are you gonna talk to them? *in a cheating way or something*" -- she was a psycho and I wanted her out of my life.

"I'm gonna take you shopping to change your clothing style." -- after arguing with her by asking WHY? for the entire conversation, I just got frustrated and told her she can't change me, another one out the door.

"Yeah we can be friends, you're really cool." -- the next day she ended up deleting me off facebook/myspace and when I text'd her just by saying hi, she responds "who is this?"

Yeah. I haven't have any good experiences with women. And this is the thing, I will NOT change for women. I will NOT change for ANYBODY. I can only change for myself. I will NOT give up my hobbies just for a girl. It's either you take me or you leave me. Your choice. I honestly can live without a woman, although it'd be nice to have someone to cuddle up next to and have sex, but in the end (for me at least), it's always a disappointment. Something ALWAYS happens. So I say, I can live without a woman because I have the things in my life to make me happy (my friends, my hobbies, my money, and my animals).

Ok, sorry for ranting, I just had to get that off my chest.

Hey everybody, it's the #1 self-proclaimed ladies man here.
This thread will be, as some of you have guessed, a guide on how to get a date. I've noticed throughout my time here on TK that a lot of you seem to think you'll never have a girlfriend. I find that to be a bunch of bull. With the right attitude, you will definately be able to get the girl. (Disclaimer: I am saying only girls because there are not that many female members. But if you'd like advice, I'd still be glad to offer it.)

To start off this first post will be pretty short, but as time goes by and I have some free time, expect this post to be updated with new "tips" if you will. Also, SS4G will be my assistant in this thread, so if there is something I can't really help with, he might be able to. Or if one of the other members has advice to offer, feel free.

I will answer practically all questions, but if you want to do nothing but get a chick into bed, well...I'm not going to give you much help with that. That's something that you should be able to do on your own after you get your confidence up. If there is something that you feel is too embarassing or you just would rather not have the other members see it, just PM me your question/situation instead.

I think that about covers what I'll be doing in this thread for now.
So here's the first piece of advice...

You have nothing to lose. That's right. The girl turned you down? Who cares, there are plenty of others. What matters is that you put yourself out there and took a chance. And that my friends, is the first thing you need to realize when it comes to "getting the girl".

I am not trying to start anything and really digging this thread. But i am just wondering for our question askers what your credentials are. I am not doubting them and have deep respect for doing this for us, but just wondering what makes you legit?

Alright, well, seems like I have a lot to reply to.

@TSoM- Well, I said "self-proclaimed", so I guess you're just gunna have to take my word on it. Hah. Besides, I did help SS4G get a date last night.

@Tyler- Humor is definately what I think works the best.

@Fairy Mothra- It'd be an honor to have you helping out. ;D Hear that guys? This topic just got better, 'cause now you have an actual female giving her opinion. And as for the "Common sense" thing, unfortunately common sense seems to be something that most people need help with.

@Spirit- For the animated girls...maybe find a chick that likes doing cosplay? That'd be about as close as you could get to it not being extremely strange. You're 19 right? So for the girls that are 3 years younger, just do what I did this one time. Give them your number and tell them to call you when they turn 18.

@JVM- That's not the right mindset. At all. If you're afraid of the rejection then you're probably going to be afraid of someone saying yes. The whole point of this topic is to help people realize that rejection is not bad. Everyone gets rejected at some point, it's inevitable. You just have to brush it off like nothing happened. And if you don't get used to rejection now then you'll be even worse in a couple years. Now is the time that you take the chances. If you aren't taking a risk, it's not going to be fun. You, my good sir, will benefit from my help.

@Slash- I've not tried that approach, nor do I think I ever will. But if there are people that want to try that, then I agree with you and I think that they should go ahead and try it. Doesn't hurt to take those chances.

@Flawed- I wish I would have seen what you wrote before you edited it. Lame. Don't give up hope though. Gotta keep the chin up.

@Cinematic- Seems to me like you're just finding some bad chicks. I'll definately think more about your post and see if I can help you out a little.

@Wataru- Woman or lady probably works better for you, although I believe there is an age limit on when a chick can be called a woman. And most of the members around here are 20 and younger, with some exceptions of course. So really, I consider them to be girls still. But I just call them chicks normally.

I've got experience with this. All too recent, also.

There's three ways to do this:

- Dont tell her and continue being lonely and be like every
one of Michael Cera's roll and adore her from afar.

- Don't tell her and try to shimmy yourself in. Ask her to go out with you. To he movies, mall, some type of social forum. Alex, can you expand upon this?

- Just tell her. I did this. You can do this two ways: The "HAVE ME!" way or the subtle, sneak attack. I text the girl I like a "hypothetical" situation. If there was a girl I liked and I was tired of trying to be subtle, would you think it's smart to just tell her? She said yes. And I was like "Well, congrats, I ahve feelings for you"...and yeah. It seemed good and all, for me, but I'm stopping with this story here.

...I wouldnt suggest the "HAVE ME" way.

Now, Fairy Mothra, would you mind giving the female view for this? Cause I actually would like to know how they respond to guys being straight up honest.

Am I the only one here who thinks the best way to go about it is let them come to you? All these people who think "they'll never get a date" or that they "only attract ugly people" just need to sit back and be patient and let life run it's course. Simple as that.

Dating isn't all it's cut out to be. It's not a hugely important piece of life.
