Yeah, I've been hearing that it picked up.

Weren't you hating on both those books just a few pages ago?

They're mediocre. But again the first 2 months of AvsX are mediocre. Theyre tie-ins but theyre not like the rest of the AvsX books - basically are different view of the same crap.

Avengers Academy is basically X-23's new comic book and New Avengers for the past 3 months has been Iron First and a prequel story talking about how Phoenix came to Earth before Jean Grey. Theyre not going to mean anything in the long run.

May I ask when you bought it? Because if you got it like ten years or so ago, I can kind of see that happening.

For me, there's a lot but from recently... Well that book and jack Kirby's fourth world omnibus vol 4 for 24.99.

It was in 2007 I think. Maybe 2006. At least five years ago.

No, just no. skreeonk you Joe.

Like I predicted last year, it's happened. Marvel Now is pretty much the new 52 for Marvel and for a place that calls itself the "house of ideas" with pride and yet have to resort to stealing their competition's ideas, that's just very low. And this is a lot like the new 52 JLA shot too, two characters with not much of a change costume wise but EVERYONE ELSE'S are different. Now with the new 52, I'll admit there's some new designs I don't like(Sorry Power Girl, I don't like the new look. :( )but this, I don't like any really with maybe Cyclop's look. Capt has to have his movie look and an armor look, because that's why. Iron Man's armored is changed YET AGAIN for some reason even though the bleeding edge is like what 2 years old now? Thor's while has some of the current look, still bleck to it. Everyone else's I don't care for and this seems unnecessary and WHY IS THE AVENGERS GETTING RENUMBERED AND RELAUNCHED AGAIN AFTER THE LAST VOLUME WHICH IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD!? Also Rocket Racoon, really?

Now all this bitching aside and sucky looking costumes, I'm still going to give theses a shot and hey! Jonathan Hickman is doing Avengers, so that should be good.

The fact of the matter is, Marvel Now! is not a reboot. The same continuity, as far as I can tell from reading numerous interviews, stays. Marvel is just starting numerous new series simulatenously in order to attract a new audience and create a new era for the company. It's not the best idea, but it's not awful either.

It's not a New 52 style of comic where everything is thrown out the window and things start again from the beginning.

I am aware of that, still it's the same basic idea just minus it being a reboot.

Course it would be funny if that all turned out to be a lie and it was. Hehe

I just don't see the issue with being majorly upset about it. It's a bit jarring, and odd, but other than that I'm happy.

I like everything besides making black Nick Fury Jr. the new main Nick Fury.

I just don't like the idea mostly that's all. I don't like it how minus a reboot, it's a lot like the new 52 from new costumes to changes in character. That being said, I'm going to check them out but I hope Capt doesn't end up like Ultimate Capt.

I've commented about that shoot in other forums, but frankly it doesn't really bothers me, I feel Marvel has been driven by money and less by creativity since a while now. But if the book is good I cannot really complain.

I hate to tell you this, yall but both DC and Marvel are driven by money.

So is Image, DHP, Dynamite!, DDP, IDW, Archie...

Also, The New 52 did not throw out the canon of the previous 9/2011 books. ALL THAT DID HAPPEN. Flashpoint was just The Flash (Barry) merging three universes together. Basically, it's like a braid in time. And MARVEL FAIL NOW!

Who here's been reading AvX VS?
For me; its pointless and mindless, but fun as hell.

Have you bothered to read the thread?

Ive read all the AvsX books - core, fringe, tie-in, VS, promos. Most of it is epic shit. Some of it is great. Odd how Avengers Academy (a crap book) has been a shining jewel in this series.

Issue 6 (or 12) started to turn good. The other comics are pretty much sidelines. Like when Emma Frost became part of the Phoenix Five, she came to destroy the Sentinel in AA. Now Giant Man, X-23 and all the students are standing upto her.

The problem is, AvsX and all the fringe, tie-in and prequel books (New Avengers and Secret Avengers are prequels, taking place BEFORE AvsX 4) are mostly meaningless filler just meant to get people to buy the books.

AvsX VS is worthless. It takes 1-3 panels fights in AvsX and expands them.

Jonathan Hickman's Avengers is supposedly going to have a massive roster of around 18 heroes.

Who would you like to see on the team?

I would like to see some creative and unique heroes there for a change. Seeing Moon Knight (I know he's been an Avenger before, but still) or even some other out there characters would be neat.

18 is insane. That's about 12 too many.

I want to see the sentry come back and have some justice done with him. I know Paul Jenkins said he would like to do one more book with him, so bring him back already.
