I forgot why I stopped reading Marvel cosmic stories - they keep killing people or changing them..

Moondragon - changed and dead.
Phyla-Vell - first Quasar, then Captain Marvel then avatar of death...jeez
Drax - dead (again)
Adam Warlock - changed to a 'magic' user then turned evil then killed.
Nova - dead.
Star-Lord - dead.
Vulcan - dead.
Black Bolt - dead.

I hope this new Denetarian Nova isnt some new New 52 Rip off/Point One loser.

Actually Phyla-Vell was an avatar of Oblivion, not Death, under the name of Martyr. Then killed releasing Thanos from his cocoon in Guardians#24. Get your facts staright sir. Besides, on the subject of Nova(Richard Rider) and Star-Lord being dead, the circumtances of their last appearance in the THANOS IMPERATVE finale leaves the door open for a return. Black Bolt I believe made a return recently in FF. Emperor Vulcan, the Big Bad of the hellacool WAR OF KINGS, is still MIA. But a lot of X-fans seem to like it that way with the third Summers Brother. Although I wouldn't be opposed to a return. But with the the rather sudden cancellation of NOVA and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, there were still some storylines left hanging. One, was at the end of NOVA#25, a member of the Nova Corp, a Shi'Ar named Malic Tarcel, was captured and tortured by Emperor Vulcan and the Imperial Guard. After they had their jollies with reblous Shi'Ar member, they left him hanging. But then coming to his rescue was Garthan Saal, the Xandarian who at one time went bugnuts from possessing the power of the entire Nova Corps under the nom de' gure, SUPER NOVA(http://marvunapp.com/Appendix3/novasaal.htm). Who had thought to me his end with Nova Corps in the ANNIHILATION WAVE , now back as Super-Nova, coming to free Tarcel. As far as I know, that plotline is still hanging. Also, in the course of War of Kings, Darkhawk, or at least his body, was part of an order that kept things status quo in the Shi'Ar Empire known as Fraternity of Raptors. And in the course of the War, Darkhawk's body was usurped by a loyal member of the Fraternity, and used to assassinate Princess Lilandra. Thus putting the blame on Chris Powell/Darkhawk when he regained control, but Nova got things straightened out later. But the Franternity still has its hooks in the Shi'Ar Empire both covertly, using illusion generating technology one member has Emperor Kal'lark/Gladiator ear in the disguise of a close advisor to him. And is also spreading some discention among the ranks of Shi'Ar Senate towards Earth. Other members of the Fraternity are also members of the Shi'Ar Imperial Guard quite publically as well.

Im about to start on the War of Kings TPB that has Secret Invasion: War of Kings, War of Kings #1-6 and Who Will Rule?

So far, it's not feeling as MASSIVE as Annihiliation. Ive read all the GotG books and the TPB Warriors leading upto it. Im thinking about waiting til my Nova 23-29 comics come before reading it. But I think theyre trying to do TOO much. I do love the Darkhawk story. I felt his 'origin' was stupid in the old books.

After I catch up on WoK and RoK, Im going to hed back and get the Thor comics Iim missing and then go back to my X-Books. Thor is getting added to my sub list while Teen Titans and Superboy are getting dumped..

So yeah, Two years of saying no to current hulk not bad really.

Well, the past 20 issues of hulk have been under Jeff Parker, and he's one of my favorite writers.
Also, who else here likes AGENTS OF ATLAS? I love those guys!

Yes but Rulk is still apart of the book. :(

And in other news after 8 years of terror and bad writing, Bendis will be OFF the avengers titles next year! :D This is awesome!

Read Venom # 9. VERY good; Remender knows how to write a story; and the art is fantastic.

Anyway, who are your favorite current Marvel writers/artists?
Here's mine:
Writers-Jeff Parker, Rick Remender
Artists-Ed Mcguiness, Leinil Francis YU, the artist for Spider-Island Venom, etc.

So Im just about to hit the Realm of Kings TPB and Im really looking forward to it. I read all the Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy titles upto it and I see why Nova was canceled. It seems unless Nova is fighting some universe destroying power, they writers dont seem to know what to do with a character on the same level of power as perhaps early 90s Silver Surger. Guardians of the Galaxy is worlds better.

I hear Annihilators sucks... so Im not looking forward to it after the Thanos Imperative.

And BTW The One and Only. If you actually REAL GotG 24, Phyla-Vell aka Martyr IS the Avatar of Death, but she was used to release Thanos. It was said like 4x in that issue alone that she IS the Avatar of Death.

So since DC has been sucking SUPER hard lately (Green Lantern books are just mere shadows of what they were), Ive been looking back at old Marvel and DC titles..

Just finished Marvel Realm of Kings so Thanos Imperative and Annihilators are next but Im going back to Runaways now, wanting to see what I missed (not much as I stopped reading it during Secret Invasion). And of course there's X-Men, so I gotta track down X-Sanction #1-3. Getting some serious interest in Demogoblin, Ghost Rider and Cloak and Dagger.

With DC Im just looking into 52, Countdown and Final Crisis, along with the old Kirby stuff like Omac and New Gods.

I'm excited for what's coming up in Thunderbolts.
Jeff Parker's work on Agents of Atlas, (Red) Hulk, and Thunderbolts are MUST-READS, in my opinion.

Spider-Man has been plain awful. The most recent issue was good, but I'm talking about the character. He's my favorite character in all of media, but they are constantly ruining him in his series. Gone were the days when he was respected by everyone else. Venom has been one of my favorite ongoing series, really good stuff there.
Making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Yeah, Rick Remender's Venom is awesome. I've been buying it monthly.
Plus, the artist, Lan Medina, is Filipino! Way to go, man!
