I agree with you on those accounts. I don't feel right dating a co-worker. My job is a headache as it is, I don't need another. I've always said that about male friends, no matter if they're single or not, you still want to sleep with them. Birth control: absolutely. Right now I don't have one in my wallet because it would be a waste of space at the moment. If a date happens, then always be prepared.

I dated a client once. The sex was amazing but then I expected it to be. That's why I dated her. Anyway, don't date clients. It's unprofessional and often doesn't end well. Yep, something did happen to me. In 2010, I dated a co worker for nearly a month. She was about 14 years older then I and was clingy as Hell. I asked her to chill alittle and she dumped me a week after my father passed away. It was very... edgy until I was fired (not because of our relationship). I then found out that a month after I was fired, she had married some dude she met RIGHT after me.

Isn't keeping a condom in your wallet for a while a bad idea because the rubbing and pressure damaged the latex.

Regarding that "don't date co-workers" nonsense...

I met my girlfriend last February and started dating her in July. She was and still is my co-worker at the child care center where I work. No one at work had a problem with this, office romances have happened there before, the directors were very happy for us, my other co-workers encouraged it and I can't think of a better person for me or a time when I've been happier with someone else. This is the girl I plan on marrying. And I met her at work.

So long story short, it's not always a bad thing.
