If the planet-eaters die out, meat eaters wouldnt have the proteins to grow. If they survived to mating age, over generations, they'd grow smaller. The lack of protein (food) though would negate brain growth and intelligence.

I believe the amount of oxygen in the air also contributes to size. A lack of oxygen would cause the animals to become smaller.

I remember reading that if Dinosaurs where never wipe out then Troodon's could have evolved into intelligent beings similar to humans. I don't think they would have been any different from humans even if they lived a lot longer then humans.

The oxygen levels had far more to do with it than food sources. High oxygen levels allows the body digest food better/faster, muscles to function at higher efficiencies, etc. A multitude of reasons stem from the high oxygen levels. The air was composed of more carbon dioxide and oxygen at the time, which also allowed large pterasaurs to exist thanks to the denser air. Denser air = more lift from each flap of their wings.

lol, Damn you, NSZ. I chuckled at your post earlier and karma came back and got me. I took my dog outside and, when I come back in, a spider landed on my goddamn arm. I flicked it off real quick and killed it, but it freaked me out.

I hate spiders too.

I'm freaked out by spiders, but at the same time find them rather fascinating. The fact that they eat so many household pests has insured that I no longer kill the spiders I see, at the least. I just ignore them so that we can both get along with our business in peace.
