My point is, the human race is arrogant, greedy, selfish and most importantly, self-destructive. We do these horrible things to ourselves and it could very easily led to our own demise.

Then you are saying that you are arrogant too since you are human like everyone else on Earth . Not all humans act bad and there is just much good things going on Earth then they are bad things. Before you say "Well you never hear about it" then the news hardly talks about it since they only tell news that people will pay to read or see. You never hear about the rebuilding of homes, schools, water resources, and employment going on in the world on the news.

Let's face it, there's a lot of horrible things going on in the world, all thanks to our existence. Slavery still exists in the form of human trafficking, terrorists plot to kill innocent people, murderers and rapists can easily get away with their crimes with just a tiny lap in legal procedure, people suffer and die every day, starvation, disease, war, weapons of unimaginable destruction and death, and on and on.

I'm being serious. If this is what you truly believe then there's no way you can continue as a productive member of society being so miserable. If this is what you truly think and make no efforts to change it then you are only another burden.

I hate this entire attitude more so then anything I can think of. This is the epitome of get on my nerves.

In actuality, the human race is a beautiful thing. We've made incredible pieces of art, we have overcome some horrible times in the worlds history, we've built a civilization that will last for centuries after we're gone, we've fostered great minds that continue to influence the world to this day. When I look out my window and I see Halifax; a tiny city in comparison to many, you cannot help but marvel at the intricacies that went into its construction, the hard work of bright minds who wanted to make the world a better place for his fellow man.

I'm saddened and disgusted by people who cannot just stop and think for all the bad in the world, that there is an overwhelming amount of good in it too. Either through some horrible and crippling worldview or the more likely fashionably cynical pseudo-intellectual posturing I see everywhere.

People are beautiful and will continue to do beautiful things. Period.

You know, I like anime, I like a lot of types of anime, but I don't have to like ALL anime, I DISLIKE Naruto. I don't like Bleach (The anime, I like the manga though). And you have said yourself, during the meetings, that there were anime you don't like. Do I remember the names of them, no, but I remember you saying that.

So again, you have made yourself look hypocritical. Dude, if you are going to be that way because ONE person disagrees with your OPINIONS, then maybe you shouldn't be in this group. Last time I checked, anime club is a place to come to say your opinions about anime, and which ones you like. Then to talk to people about the ones they like and dislike. I have done all that so far. I have never been rude or in an argument with anyone here. So why are you acting like a hypocritical narcissistic ass.

BTW, I never said I don't like made up characters, hell, it should be known by now. I have only said about 1000 times that my favorite anime characters is Sanya and Eila. I have said a thousand times my favorite yuri couple is Sanya and Eila. I have said twice that many times that my favorite anime is Strike Witches.

Why do I respond like this... because in Anime club, every time someone disagrees with him... He says they don't belong in Anime Club. But when he disagrees with someone, it's ok. Then he thinks his opinions are all automatic facts and that everyone else needs to act like they are golden laws.

So I told him to stop being an ass, in a really long way. He has been doing this bullshit for a long time, and I am starting to get tired of it.

No ones saying all of humanity sucks, some of us are just look at the world as a glass half empty, just as others look at the world as half full. Really I don't even get why there is a conflict, sure one side seems to focus on the bad and the other the good but both sides agree that there is both good and bad, the world is not all of just one, if anything the world is MIDDLE GROUND.

This is true but not everyone who has the "glass is half empty" view on the world bitches about it all the time ( hell I kept it to myself until now) and not all of them think the world is just bad, a lot of them still see that there are good things in the world it's just that for some reason bad shit stands out to them more even when they try to focus on the good. It's kinda like obsessives compulsive disorder.

And some of the people who think the world sucks don't just bitch about it, some of them go out of their way to try and make it a better place and fix the problems by becoming cops, doctors and starting charities, ect.

Damn it's been awhile since I've posted... well, anywhere on the forum. Anyway, currently my brother's anarchist bullshit is REALLY bugging me. I'm not gonna go into specifics, but it's basically that "authority figures have no rule over you stuff." You see history in terms of good and evil. Stop that. Victor and Vanquished is more appropriate. One side wins, sweeps all it's misdeeds and away and publicizes every thing the other ever did that was bad. No admittedly, to the modern person, Hitler was more or less almost objectively bad (Unless you either A. Share his anti-semantic views, or B. View human life as devoid of any real worth for whatever odd reason) still in a parallel reality where he had won WWII he would be the great leader who brought order to a corrupt and weak spined world. Mao won China, so he got to be the one who liberated them from foreign influence and put China back on the path to being strong again.

Winner gets to spin the story, anyway they choose. That's how Mao can be a hero to China.
