Movie Director: What would you direct

Post by GodzillaFan1990's »

Title pretty much explains it. If you had what it took to be a movie director. What would you guys direct? For me. There's three movies that comes to mind for me.

Gamera remake: Its one of my dreams to see an American adaption of Gamera using his Heisei origins given the potential of visuals, story, premise but in the modern age and such being directed by Guillermo del Toro but if he couldn't manage to end up doing it and if I could be a movie director. This is definitely one of these movies I'd do without a doubt.

Killer saber-toothed cat movie: I'm a huge hardcore fan of killer creature flicks and definitely my favorites in the horror genre. Being the saber-toothed cats are my favorite Ice Age animals I just die for a decent movie about one with this approach. The only two that's been made were for the SyFy Channel but I'm talking about one with an actual budget. If I could this would be definitely a project I'd do for sure. Whether original or doing an movie adaption for Jeff Rovin's Fatalis which was falsely rumored to had been done by Universal starring Sylvester Stallone.

Historical killer creature flick about the Partridge Creek Monster: An rather obscure cryptid I've been reading into recently that's only had two sightings in the 1900's. This particular cryptid has my interest due to what it is. An supposed ceratosaur covered in fur living in the Yukon and Arctic of all places. My movie on this would be called The Monster of Partridge Creek and it'd be set in 1910 where after two years of the last sighting of the creature it comes again and begins feeding not only on the local caribou and moose but people like hunters as well which prompts locals Tom Leemore and Lavagneux along with the same group of natives with the latter two years ago (After a failed attempt to find the creature) to hunt and kill the beast.

So what about you guys?

Y'know, probably something like this...

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

I'd probably go for a movie in the swamp monster genre.

In fact here's one I have done.

I would my say my dream project would be to make an animated adaptation of William Gibson's Alien 3 script, or an animated Metroid series.

An anthology film based on Cryptozoology.

A remake of Manso:the Hands of Fate, done as a straight up horror film. Something of a cross between Dracula and the original The Hills Have Eyes, is what I would be aiming for.

A good addition of the Doom games, it would be like Hardcore Henry. Done as an over-the-top, balls to the walls, horror action movie done in the first person view point.

An animated film based on Dracula, done a hundred percent straight. No comedy, no musical numbers and no goofy, anthropomorphic comic relief characters. A pure, gothic horror film done in the classic Disney style. Hell I would do the same thing with Frankenstein, The Island of Dr. Moreau, The Call of Cthulhu, The War of The Worlds, Night of The Crabs (with all the sex and gore), The Great God Pan and so on and so on.

One of the few adaptations I'd actually be interested in doing would be a found footage version of Dracula. One of my favorite aspects of the novel is its epistolary format, and another is the idea of an evil people have written off as part of an older , more superstitious time entering into the modern world. A contemporary found footage setting would cover both those bases.

Few other movies I'd definitely do is an adaption of Harry Turtledove's A Different Flesh or at least something based on it given I always loved the idea of European colonists interacting with Ice Age megafauna and humans co-existing with another hominid species to boot.

Hell if I could be even better as a TV series since there'd be more to show and expand on the timeline of it.

The other would be a Sci-Fi/Drama with a man vs. self/man vs. society theme set in the near future where scientists are successful in bringing back a neanderthal through a woman giving birth (Who volunteered for it) and integrated into society.

Also an Cryptid Cinematic Universe. Among the ideas that eventually happens in it are Bigfoots and other hominid cryptids having their existence revealed and integrated into society (Those that didn't want to be being given their own communities and reserves) due to being equally as intelligent as us though not capable of speaking.

I aspire to be a film director and writer, so this is definitely a interesting topic.

Dream films:
- Godzilla: Of course I would love to make a Godzilla movie! Mine would have Godzilla being this mysterious entity, a sort of "living spirit". He wouldn't be a straight up ghost, moreso a definite force of nature. I would have a strong human protagonist, who tries to survive in a world that's being torn apart my monsters, while Godzilla's being thrown into the mix.

Predator: A rated-R animated Predator film would be interesting, and easier for dynamic shots. It would also be a great way to test the waters, since the last Pred film was........ well enough has been said. I'm excited that the Alien franchise is experimenting with short stories, maybe a animated film with different stories and Predators would an ideal choice.

Psychological thriller: I've got a few vague ideas cooked up, nothing really to explain yet.

Comedy: Some kind of satirical comedy would be a dream come true, something that's almost like Spaceballs or Young Frankenstein, mixed with the weird style of things like Tank Girl. It would be hard to make a Spaceballs or Blazing Sandles in this day and age of course, but there's gotta be some kind of compromise. It's hard to explain.
"Bang on, mate.", - Murdoc Niccals 2018.

"Right, wrong... Nobody's got a clue what the difference is in this town. So I'm gonna have more fun... and live crazier than any of 'em." - Goro Majima.

Same.

I'd also love to do an animated Beast Wars movie. Not a straight adaptation of the original show's plot because I don't think that story could be properly compressed to fit a 2 hr movie, but more of a reimagining.
why did i have to be the chosen one?

Godzilla of course.
Batman, definitely.
Scooby Doo, for funsies.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, yeppers.
Dracula, is a must.

Especially wouldn't mind doing some unexpected combinations of all those characters, like the upcoming Batman/TMNT animated crossover coming up sometime this spring, or the Batman/Scooby Doo crossover last year. I'd love to do something like Scooby meets Godzilla done with the old Showa era, Hanna-Barbera style Godzilla (man, it's a shame they didn't think of that when they had the chance). Batman and Godzilla would be interesting challenge to figure out. Scooby Doo meets all the classic Universal Monsters. Live action Scooby movie done right. There was this idea I had watching Mr. Holmes during the in Japan parts, where I thought they, wouldn't it be cool to see Sherlock trying to solve a murder during the events of the original Godzilla movie? Just a lot of fun, nerdy love projects I would love. Let me see...

1. Batman vs Dracula, done like an old Universal Monster movie.
2. Batman vs Dracula sequel, done like an old Hammer Horror movie.
3. Live action Scooby Doo that respects the old cartoon.
4. Sherlock Holmes and Godzilla, kind of like Mr. Holmes meets Cloverfield meets 2014 Godzilla meets 1954 Godzilla, if that makes sense.
5. Godzilla vs Daimaijin
6. Godzilla vs Gamera
7. Godzilla and Scooby Doo
8. Godzilla and Batman
9. Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, live action.
10. Live action Scooby and Batman
11. Sherlock Holmes and Scooby Doo
12. Scooby Doo meets Frankenstein
13. Scooby Doo meets Dracula
14. Scooby Doo and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
15. Not a crossover, but Batman vs Owlman in live action would be neat.
16. I've run out of ideas here, so just so much porn!

And that's it.
I unapologetically, wholeheartedly, and without a doubt hate Godzilla vs Kong.

I have a few ideas for Monster rallies, a horror film with two to three, or more monsters.

A crossover between Chucky and the Mummy. It would play out much like the original Child's Play, but the mother is working at a museum where the Mummy comes back to life. The Mummy goes after the mother, who is the reincarnation of his love. The two end crossing paths, in what would be a battle of wits.

A new Friday the 13th, where Jason fights a werewolf! A guy becomes a werewolf and goes into hiding in an abandoned camp ground, Camp Crystal Lake.

A Primal Rage movie set during the initial Cataclysm.

An adult animated adaptation of Ricardo Delgado's Age of Reptiles. Preferably Tribal Warfare or The Hunt as I think they lend themselves to animation the best. Of course traditionally animated. "Silent" or voice overs it doesn't really matter though I'm leaning toward voice acting. I'd even have Delgado supervise the animation as well as the voice over script to make sure we stay as close to his story as possible.

So about if I were to make the Partridge Creek Monster an historic killer creature flick.

Rather then a dinosaur. To explain why there's just one and also its massive size for a ceratosaur and hair its per say not some normal creature. Its some type of entity over 65 million years old that came into existence in response to the dinosaurs extinction whose mana/spirit energy became that creature thus beng an manifestation that represents as an reminder that such creatures existed long ago and was also a forgotten by the natives of the land that once worshiped it as some god tens of thousands of years ago when the ancestors of the indigenous people of the Americas settled in the New World.

My choices of films to direct

At least 2 Godzilla films, 1 where Godzilla encounters a burrowing kaiju, and one where encounters an Aquatic Kaiju (also featuring Ebirah and Giant Condor), possibly more in the future.

Another idea is a world where humans have all disappeared, making the animals there try to adapt as things change without humans around.

Prehistoric Life films, yes. My preferred type focuses on their evolution. The Evolution one would be animated, so it wont be as expensive to use models.

A film where a group of criminals attempt to steal a valuable item, but soon discovered that item is located at a Zoo, and naturally things don't go as planned, especially since the item is guarded by a very aggressive hippo.

That's all I got for now
