My wife and I launched the crowdfunding campaign for our movie's post production this afternoon, and we got our first donation almost immediately!

My grandfather passed away at 94, and I still don't know for certain whether he came to Christ in the end or not... but while the family was gathered around praying for him, they saw a bright light, and my grandfather's parents and childhood friend standing in the doorway; after that, he was far more at peace (though not really lucid to speak). Whatever happened for him in that moment, or the hours afterward, we won't know this side of Heaven- but I think everyone else in the family, all the children now facing a world without him, have immeasurably more peace after such a miraculous occurrence. Whether or not grandpop came to Jesus in the end, he was given an incredible gift and every possible chance- and the rest of us, an eye-opening reminder of the truth beyond the mundane world around us that we can so easily get wrapped up in.

I'm still processing all of this, but safe to say that this has made not just my day, or year, but my lifetime.

I won two tickets to an anime convention in February! And since I'll attend at least two or three more cons next year, I'm definitely going to have a pretty eventful year, I hope.
