My birthday this year sucked, because we spent it helping someone move, and no one in the family really acknowledged it after.

So today, four months later, I just came home from work to find that my wonderful wife has arranged a surprise birthday party with my friends!

God, this sure isn't actually what made my day.

Actually, nothing much made my day. My wife's out of town and I'm miserably depressed without her. Like, not even fully functioning as a person. I've spent most of the today contemplating the horrible fact that eventually one of us will die, and the other will be left alone.

Oh! Oh! Saw part of a new edit of one of the segments of our movie, and it's improved substantially over the last version! That made me pretty happy!

And I watched a couple of solid episodes of The Orville.

I'm fucking miserable, though. In a very dark place.
